I think this is a very good motel for the price. Moteld are all pricey here going towards Glenwood. I feel safe, well lighted, and appreciated the breakfast. I had no lroblem with my dog being here. However she is a small , excellently behaved medical alert animal. What makes places have issues with dogs is dogs that are NOT well behaved and sometimes not even potty trained!!!
That is not fair when motel staff have to clean up after dogs , as well as  nuisance barking.
I am presently homeless* 70 and appreciate this oasis to do housing search, important paperwork. 
* Due to a housefire that destroyed EVERYTHING

I really don't see why this place has a negativr reputation. The manager "red flags"problem. Methheads, etc. have police called.
Please continue to keep the place up, and renovations.Thx.

Best inexpensive motel in the area

I was pleasantly surprised by this little hotel. Clean white sheets, comfortable King sized bed, clean room with air conditioning that worked. Clean, newly updated shower with good water pressure and white, clean towels. It looked a little sketchy from the road, but I would recommend!

Called 3 hotels - totally booked- before coming to Gateway Lodge. Paid for room, then upon entry noticed a strong odor (possibly new carpet glue). Clerk had indicated few rooms remaining. Window was pane glass & not openable, fan in AC unit did not help vent the odor.  No water cups, coffee maker or blow dryer were in this room.  Minimal towels provided, they were fine but too few.  A notice in the room warned extra charges for missing or over-soiled towels.  Walls and ceiling did little to provide a quiet nights’ stay. Posting a picture of the entry door.
However, beds were comfortable and good TV channel lineup, & breakfast was ok.

Check the room first!!

Obviously a happening place because parking lot is pretty full.  Good over night place, definitely old school,  place can use some work but overall not bad. Breakfast has your typical stuff, waffles, cereal, pastries kind of thing.  Located near a lot of things close to interstate. Last that checked us in was friendly.  Room has small fridge, microwave and WiFi

Get what you pay for

Price was right.  Motel is old school.  We can see they gradually updating.  Glad we found them.  Break room was updated, clean.  Outside flowers were a nice touch. Would stop here next time we are passing through.

Inexpensive, pleasant stop for the night.

I think I would've enjoyed this little place a bit more if I were in a room on the front side. Instead we were in back upstairs which wasn't optimal. I loved the service though. Fun, sincere and a great sense of humor. The room was basic and served its purpose. Continental breakfast was ok and a bit cramped. Location was awesome. Close to local restaurants/bars.

Quirky & Basic

I made a reservation for August 3. I called a week prior to cancel due to a change of plans. The man on the phone could not find my reservation. Fast forward to August 3 and my card was charged. Called multiple times. One employee finally found my reservation, the guy butchered the spelling of my name. He does not speak English very well. The employee said they would refund me. The man refused, hello civil lawsuit.

Do not make a reservation here!

Very friendly management, and well kept rooms were appreciated, especially since this was the only hotel I could find for under $90 near Glenwood Springs. My room looked like it had recently been painted, and carpets were very clean. It had everything you would want such as refrigerator, microwave, and even real ice buckets, not the cheap little plastic ones. 

Welll kept rooms in good location

All went well until moments after my leave. My wife had left her marriage rings on top of the dresser. That’s a fact. I called hours after I had left and was informed that nothing was left behind. I guess they even remember the tip I left behind. Anyways, just remember to always collect all personal belongings before leaving because if not, you won’t get it back.

Dishonest housekeeping

Stayed here overnight during our road trip. 

The location is great with local amenities within walking distance. 

We paid $65 (includes taxes etc). There was free WiFi, a small selection of fruit, cookies and light bites for breakfast. 

The check in guy was not very engaging but did what he was there to do. 

The rooms were tired and dated BUT the bed sheets were clean and so were the bathroom towels. 

I did feel a little unsafe as there are a few “dodgy” looking people loitering and the door was rather flimsy. 

I wouldn’t want to spend many nights here but it was just a place to get some sleep before heading onto the next place. 

For me, as long as the sheets/ bedding and bathroom towels are clean with a decent shower... I’m happy.
