This was our fourth stay at Lokelani (March 11 - 16, 2024). We had high hopes that this stay would be as equally wonderful as our previous three stays, but we were profoundly disappointed. Our first three stays were in A203 and all three were a joy. I guess Lokelani became synonymous to a perfect vacation for us. This year, we decided to try condo C206. We were intrigued by the idea of being able to watch the sea turtles on the beach from our lanai. Some of the photos on the website indicate that the beach can be easily seen from the condo. When we ventured onto the lanai, we realized that the foliage next to the building had grown significantly since some of those photos and our view was now the drainage area and a teeny tiny view of the beach. Some of the photos on the website are more recent and show that the leaves are more prevalent. Our fault. We should have emailed a question. We still had the lovely ocean view in front of us. So we settled in to have yet another wonderful experience in paradise. We went to bed early, happy to listen to the waves as we dozed off. The next morning, I went downstairs to get coffee started and discovered roaches on the counter. We didn't freak out (although I have several friends who would have run away screaming 😯). We called Hugh, the maintenance person. He was very friendly and promised to bring us some roach motels and spray, which he did. We were hopeful that the roach problem was limited to the kitchen, but we found one upstairs a couple days later. That made us worry that we might take them home with us and infest our house. We tried to mitigate that possibility by washing all of our clothes the day before we left, then putting them in our suitcases and keeping them zipped up. 

But that was not the only problem. We left to visit Haleakala for the day and left the dishwasher running. When we returned, there was a big puddle of dirty water on the kitchen floor. We let Hugh know about it but cleaned it up ourselves. We visit Maui to relax, watch the whales, and enjoy the beauty. We don't try to find problems to complain about and generally roll with the punches. But in this case, I really felt like we were being taken advantage of. We paid a total of $3,955 for our 5 nights and dealing with a roach infestation and leaky dishwasher just really shouldn't happen. I emailed someone at info@lokelanicondos.com (did not supply a name) and asked that we be refunded $1,250, the base price for two nights. We were refunded $500 and that was the end of that conversation. 

There were other small problems: all of the sliding doors were very difficult to open, the lanai furniture was uncomfortable, there was no icemaker in the refrigerator, and several other items that really should have been part of general maintenance, but we did not bring those items to the attention of management. 

If we ever have a chance to visit Maui again, I think we will stay elsewhere.

Not Wonderful

This is a beautiful condo complex and condo. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.  We had two separate balconies and plenty of room to move about. It was nice to have two baths (one downstairs) as well. Stunning ocean views and friendly manager. 2018

Not sure the quality of the condos, but the do look lovely. My wife have been trying to cancel a trip here scheduled for early Nov because of the fire damage (it is 5 miles from Lahaina via the Google maps measurement tool). We booked through Airbnb and Geoff, the host, will not let us cancel for a refund. This feels incredibly tone deaf and greedy considering all that has transpired. We are just trying to do the right thing, but as usual the almighty dollar reigns supreme. Considering the callous attitude and dismissive responses, I urge you or anyone else considering this lodging  option to consider taking your business elsewhere.

C203 was a great condo for the 11 days we stayed.
The condo was clean and comfortable, low key. quiet but close to Front Street and Kaanapali Beach . We were very satisfied with this condo the grounds are very kept and clean. I would highly recommend. A few exceptions, main TV flickers a lot and there are dogs near the pool area ( neighbors I’m assuming) bark all

Great experience

This was my 5th time to Maui, and this has been one of my favourite places to stay. The property was amazing - no concerns at all with anything. We stayed in unit B205. Fully stocked, AC, clean and well-maintained. You can't get a better view! Two floors and two lanais provided tons of space. Comfortable living areas to unwind in the evening. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. Private beach with turtle sightings every day. There was nothing missing that I wished was available! I would definitely recommend this place to others. A quiet property, units very soundproof. If you book here, you won't regret it! 

Paradise awaits!

This was our first visit to Maui and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay: We stayed at B205 and it
 is a pure gem. It’s right on the ocean. We were fell asleep and woke up each day to the sound of the ocean. We watched some spectacular sunsets from our balcony and saw turtles on the beach. The location is just amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. The condo itself is as excellently clean and well stocked. From pots, pans, utensils to condiments, coffee maker, beach chairs, luggage carts, towels and beach toys, it had everything. The attention to detail is great. The condo is clean, comfortable and homely. Geoff was always prompt to respond and we highly recommend this place. The condo is within 15 minutes of some great beaches (Napili, Kaanapali) and food trucks. The location is fantastic!

Breathtaking oceanfront views and super comfy condo.

We were very happy with our stay at unit A205 in August.  The best feature is the location right on the water with a view of the ocean, Molokai, and Lanai.  On the day we arrived there were a couple turtles in the water so we could watch them from the lanai. In the evenings we sat on the lanai and watched the sun set between those two islands.  I agree with other reviews that the lower level of the condo could get quite warm, being that there was no AC on that level, but we found that keeping the curtains drawn in the late afternoon until sunset helped reduce the heat. Plus, there are two ceiling fans and a fan on the floor to help cool off.  And we didn’t really spend a lot of time hanging out in the condo, so it really wasn’t an issue for us.   Otherwise, the condo was clean and comfortable.  The water pressure in the shower was good, but if 3 or more of us took showers in a row, the hot water ran out.  The unit had 4 beach chairs, a boogie board, and 3 noodles to take to the beach.  The nearby small sandy beach was easily accessible and not too crowded and had a shower where you could rinse off.  The broken screen door mentioned in other reviews was fixed while we were there. Actually, I had sent an email to the property management company that a light bulb in a ceiling fan was out, just to bring it to their attention, not looking for it to be replaced for us, but a maintenance guy was out early the next morning to replace it and he fixed the door at the same time – such attentiveness was appreciated.  The location was perfect for us – a short drive to many restaurants, shops, and beaches, but not right in the middle of all the action, so traffic wasn’t bad.

Unit A205 - nice!

A205. It is adequate and clean. Beautiful view and you can enjoy seeing the ocean. Location is well situated for access to public parts of Kaanapali. We did love seeing the turtles that live on the tiny beach. Snorkeling is ok at the location. The complex grounds were well kept.  We only stayed for 3.5 days which was ok. Longer would have been rougher due to several issues which are: all mattresses are terrible. Master bed is a taco bed. There is no central AC. If you are going in July or August it is hot!  Bedrooms only have ac units which means you cannot enjoy the view inside on the main level until nearly sunset or later when it cools down. Door handle on front screen constantly falls off. Lock on upstairs patio doesn’t work.

Great view but needs new beds.

These condos come in 2options, ground floor is 1 bedroom, upstairs units are 2bed, 2bath. I stay in ground floor unit C-104. The outside of units are older, granted, but wait till I walk in.. the view CANNOT BE BEAT! The condo is spacious and the 1 bedroom has a king bed, plenty of closet space and connects to the 1bathroom which is assesible from the kitchen as well. Unit also has a stayed washer and dryer. The lanai is where the money shot is! Beautiful. Been staying here since the early 80's and have continued the tradition with my daughter and her finace. It's a generational thing! The pool is small and located by parking lot, nice enough. There is a small but beautiful shady beach outback that seems private. (Altho all beaches in Hawaii are "public") During whale season you can spot them easily from the condo. I will recommend always and whenever I can, I always return to Lokelani.

Home away ffom home

Beautiful location and breathtaking views. The beach is literally steps away and somewhat private. People off the street do sneak in. But can’t beat the location. Liz in the office is absolutely amazing and kind. She will do whatever it takes to make your stay more comfortable. Our unit didn’t have a vacuum so she went out and bought one herself. She’s awesome!

The unit itself is nice, needs updating of furniture. The couches are worn and saggy and kind of dirty looking. The track doors are sandy and full of bugs. Which makes it very difficult to close. Showers could be more clean and carpet needs to go. Feels gross under the feet. The master bed is horrendous. I could barely walk after the 3rd day. Needs replacing. The pillows are awful too. The twin beds in this unit are a dream though. So cozy. We have 3 kids and rented a cot through Amahami mothers in Maui. Well my daughter came home with molluscum warts all over her torso from the bedding. Mortifying to say the least. Dr says it’s from the bedding. Don’t rent from them. They left the cot on the front porch step all day before we got there. 

The unit itself is nice though but could be more clean. The washer and dryer are crap too. The washer doors opens the wrong way and you have to crink your body to load anything. Dryer takes 3 cycles to dry anything small. 

Overall so so. I’m a clean freak so I was under impressed by the unit. Ants and a cockroach in the kitchen. Only saw the cockroach once but the ants all over the sink all day everyday. I’m sure there are worse places to stay. 

Beautiful views and the beach location is awesome. Not sure if I’ll be back to A204 mainly because the master bed and the not so cleanliness of the place.
