The Glove House

We stayed for two nights in the Bladon suite at Glove House in March 2020. The suites as other guests have attested to exuded luxury with antique furniture, boutique high quality finishes, premium bed linen, towels and toiletries. In our suite we also had a wide selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate as well as still and sparkling water available and a good variety of biscuits. The attention to detail really is first class and there were additional touches to make our stay more comfortable including an array of current magazines with a cosy reading corner and much to my delight bubble bath to use in the roll top bath! Where Glove House really does shine though is through the owner Francesco who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and continued to be a superb host throughout our stay. On our arrival he brought us a pot of tea with delicious cake and gave us some recommendations for where to eat in the village that night (we dined at the Black Prince which we’d recommend). Francesco also checked each night if we wanted fresh milk to be left in our room so we could make tea/coffee. The breakfast each morning was also wonderful, served in a gracious dining room with beautiful cutlery and crockery and a lovely choice of croissants, home-made bread, yoghurt, muesli, cereal and some delicious locally sourced cooked items, not forgetting Francesco’s famous Italian scrambled egg, which you absolutely must try! Francesco, we can’t thank you enough for making our stay in Oxfordshire one to remember, we’ll be recommending Glove House to our friends and family, and hope to stay with you again when we next visit the area!
