This was-a  garbage experince the manager was completely ass and was always mad and the kids wws extremely racist to black people which is absolutely disgusting behavior

The racist experience

Had the misfortune of having to endure staying here through work for a week, The staff are all pleasant & well mannered but The hotel is Dirty,  bed bugs & dirty sheets, the floors un hoovered, Wifi doesn't work depending on were they put you, very noisy ventilation system,Prostitutes & drugs these are all common complaints

The cctv in the car park doesn't work, many trades park there with vans full of tools cars & vans broken into.

Will never stay there again this is a grim dive.

Dirty & crime ridden watch your vans cars.

The hotel is very nice. It’s so cheap and yet so so nice. The staff here are so nice. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are so nice. The inside and outside of the hotel is so nice and looking wonderful. I’ve been here a few times

Great 

We stayed here recently just for one night so that we could see my brother nearby.  The cost was £40 for the night.  We arrived in the early afternoon and was checked in swiftly.  

The room we stayed in was just at the top of the first lot of stairs.  The room was clean and warm and was decent in size.  We only had one towel so luckily we had brought some of our own.  It was stated on booking.com that there were free toiletries but there were none in the room.  We again had brought our own but if we had not have done so then we would have had to go and purchase some.  

The hairdryer did not work but thankfully I had tested this before my shower so just did not wash my hair for the night and instead just freshened up.  The room was rather noisy and we could hear people talking as they were coming up the stairs.  At one point I did feel like going out and telling the people off that were whistling away at 7am when it was a Sunday morning and we would have liked to have stayed in bed a little later than 7am.

The staff were friendly on the whole but the place could do with a few improvements.  Overall it was ok for a one night stay but I don't think we would stay again.

Ok for a night

Booked 1 night for 3 adults in family room. No issues with check in , lovely girl on reception. Requested hair dryer and iron was given both on checking in (although no ironing board in room). Asked for late check out no problem. Went to room OMG, it was beyond basic. The carpet was the worse stained dirty diseased carpet I have ever seen. Went to reception and they gave us a refurbished room and said the hotel was undergoing refurbishment so not all rooms were finished. The new room so clean, bigger but basic but u get what u pay for. My only issue was it smelt like Bob Marley stayed there, the smell of weed was so strong and the bathroom smelt of cigarette smoke. I told the girl who said she can get me air fresheners but didn't seem surprised. When I opened window the outside of full of cig and joint butts. There is no vaping allowed as apparently the smoke alarms are very sensitive. Not in room 57.  Overall basic hotel & friendly staff. 

Budget hotel

We had our wedding reception yesterday evening at the county and it was just wonderful. The staff are an absolute credit as is ray. The experience from start to finish was amazing, great food, great staff and beautiful room and bedrooms. The food was served to the second, we all ate same course at same time and it was beautiful as was the night buffet. I would highly recommend the county as a wedding venue. The only negative I feel were the gardens which was a little disappointing if I’m honest. Although the lawn has been tended to, the path area could have been weeded and the garden furniture/ bridges/hut/stage etc and gates would have been beautiful had they have had some care and attention, a lick of paint would not take long and I feel would have made a huge difference. I would recommend the venue highly to family and friends but think tending to the gardens would make a lovely place even more perfect. I think if I were having an outside service I would have been upset tbh

Wedding reception 27th July 2019

As a family we attended my cousin's wedding last week.
The wedding was absolutley amazing, such a happy day. We all had a great time. The ceremony was held in one room which was set out very nicely.
The photos were taken out side in a lovely setting.
The meal was served and it was fine, we all enjoyed the food.
A great party at night.
We stayed at the hotel, the room which we stayed in was for 3 people, it was very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning again it was fine with alot of choice.
We had a great time, thank you everyone at the hotel.

family wedding

We arrived around dusk on a Sunday evening and our SATNAV indicated that our destination was on the side of the road where we saw a car park sign for the hotel. We parked up, got out our bags and walked to the front – no hotel, just flats. So we dragged our bags to the back of the park – same again.
Eventually, my wife saw the hotel a little further up the road and on its opposite side. So the car park we had turned into was an overflow park with nothing on its signage to say so. We put our bags back into the car and drove across to the hotel where there were plenty of spaces.
We were tired and hungry so asked if we could book a table in the restaurant – the receptionist said that there was no chef and we’d have to eat out. I then asked about breakfast – she said there’d be no chef in the morning either, only a continental breakfast would be available. I was angry about this because the hotel’s website makes a great deal of the availability of a full English breakfast. 
My wife was suffering with an old leg injury and could barely walk. It turned out that our room was on the first floor but there was no lift. The corridors were dark even when the flickering automated lights came on as we walked along.
In the room, which was quite cramped but not so cramped as the bathroom, neither bedside lamp was working. The TV was small but at least it worked.
Moreover, there was no wi-fi.
Breakfast on Monday morning was awful.
Run out of space - will have to put more on website if I can.


Completely mis-sold by website advertising. No hot meals; no lift; no wi-fi; no bedside lights. Just dismal.

Hotels like this just don’t receive the credit they deserve. 
Attended for my best friends wedding, for which i was maid of honour for. 
Absolutely fantastic day, service was impeccable, and the staff were brilliant. 
Hotel itself is currently undergoing a refurbishment and what has been done so far, looks amazing. 
The manager is such a nice guy, friendly and welcoming and certainly knows how to run a hotel. My partner and I have worked for years in the hospitality trade, so have been to many weddings as well as run them for other people and we have never witnessed one as good as this. 
Couldn’t have asked for a better day for our friends, so thank you for everything you did to make the day as special as it was. Keep up the fantastic work, you are doing a great job!
