When we checked in for our two night stay at the hotel we weren't expecting the world but we do expect for it to be clean, to provide the hotel services it states and to be able to sleep. Unfortunately none of these basic expectation were met.
We arrived to find the 'free parking' consists of around 6 spaces to the front of the hotel. If these are full you will have to park in the other near by car parks which charge for the privilege Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Not a great start. When checking in they asked simply for our names and checked us in. While this made for a speedy check in I thought this was very unsafe and they ended up mixing my room up with that of my mothers who was also staying for the weekend. This is now causing further issues in my complaint dispute with the hotel as they keep confusing me with my mother and are confused as to which room had the problems.
Once in the room we unpacked and went to hit the hay. Unfortunately we found grass and hairs in the sheets (and the bathroom) which clearly show this room had not been cleaned. Exhausted as we were (after 9 hours travelling to Scotland)  we decided to complain and request new sheets in the morning so we could get to sleep asap. So we swept the dirt to the bin and went to bed. However we did not sleep as it must have been the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever felt. You can not charge over £55 a night for a room with an inadequate mattress. To add insult to injury the grass must have contained some bugs as we were bitten constantly while in bed.
As such we went to complain to reception and ask to speak to the manager. The managers were apparently in a separate building to Juniper court so the receptionist asked for them to call me or come over to the building once they got into work at 9am. Unable to move rooms we opted to check out early and pay for alternative accommodation. While checking out I was asked for all my contact and booking information again. Apparently the manager was now busy but would contact me asap. It is now two days later and I have still not had a callback. They are also now denying all knowledge of the incident and are refusing to refund or compensate for the experience. 
Avoid like the plague. I saw many others experience issues this weekend as I waited for the manager in reception at one point, to no fruition. Each one was given the excuse that the manager was else where but would call them. In hind site this was clearly a staling tactic.

Dirty, Inadequate and Mismanaged

Although the size and type of bedroom was what we were looking for, to me the most important thing is everything needs to be clean to a minimum. Having hairs from previous travellers in the bathroom and shower is not at all what I want to find in my room. That was the only low point for me,but it's low enough to not recommend this accommodation.

Good clean room and access to well equipped kitchen. 
Grounds fabby and staff friendly.
Great value.
Could do with better mattress though !
Good parking facilities with cctv . Never worried about van security. 
Handy laundry a fraction of the price of other hotels. 
On site restaurant decent food too.

We travelled from Northern Ireland with a group of 23 under 14 kids and 3 adults, + our bus driver, playing 2 rugby matches and visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Stirling. We stayed all 4 nights of the trip on the Stirling University Campus, in the relatively new Juniper Court accommodation (apartments of 8-10 individual bedrooms with en suites and a shared kitchen/ dining/ living area with a tv - no tvs in the bedrooms). It was very good.  Our driver stayed in Beech Court and it was a little more basic, but still good value and fine for our needs.
Note that the rooms are designed  for single students. The beds are larger than a standard single but smaller than a standard double you might expect in a hotel. This IS student accommodation for the majority of the year, so don't expect otherwise. However they are bright, modern and clean.
There aren't tvs in each room but there is one in the shared living room.
The accommodation and location were excellent and very good value for money. The campus is beautifully landscaped and a relatively safe place to bring kids. They could wander around the grounds, throw a ball around on the green spaces and visit the shop on their own. We had free use of the campus swimming pool (the National Swimming Centre with a 50m pool) at  certain times and also took the group to the campus cinema. A few of us played a very good par 3 , 9 hole golf course.There are plenty of pitches (both grass and synthetic) available for training sessions for team practice, as well as indoor sports facilities, tennis courts etc, if you need/ want them - though these must be hired.
Breakfast was included and was very good, with plenty of variety. We also had a 2 course lunch and an evening meal in Willow Court, when it suited our itinerary. Both these meals were very good.
There were the odd 'hiccups' - a rogue fire alarm went off early one morning, the door access cards got locked in rooms a few times at the start, the tv signal wasn't great in some of the apartments - but these really weren't an issue overall and staff always dealt with them in a sympathetic manner.
Staff throughout the campus were all very friendly and helpful. That includes the booking staff pre-visit. 
We would definitely recommend this venue, particularly for group parties like ours.

Under 14 Rugby Tour from NI

Travellers to Stirling who need a reasonably priced place to stay can  experience excellent hospitality in the wonderful setting of Juniper Court with views of the Wallace Monument and the Ochil Hills and marvellous walks in the lush grounds of its Stirling University setting. Longer stay guests like myself will benefit from the friendly service provided by the reception staff but all visitors, from short stay to longer term, will be greeted by smiling faces who are happy to make your visit a comfortable one.
The accommodation I selected was a self-catering double studio flat. It was furnished relatively sparsely but well with everything immaculately clean and it had a kitchen area equipped to a satisfactory standard. There was a small supermarket close by for purchasing food, toiletries and miscellaneous items. 
Free WiFi and use of the University's sports facilities came with the price of the accommodation which is designed to cater for students' needs during term time.
No frills, no extravagances but modern, clean and staffed by very cordial, approachable personnel. Good value all round. And a truly memorable setting for anyone who travels to Stirling when Juniper Court is accepting guests.
