The other reviews citing the Shola as being excellent are all correct. It really is outstanding. And after seeing thousands of guests over the years one might think that Sharon and Dave's enthusiasm would be starting to ebb, but instead their welcome was as warm as ever. 

We stayed five nights this time, with the Shola being a good base for the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and the Dark Hedges to the east, with Derry and Donegal to the west. And in a little over an hour one can be in Belfast, where the Titanic and the Crown Liquor Saloon are two musts. 

Staying several nights at the Shola also provides the opportunity to enjoy the house. The beautiful lounge begs to be lingered in, with CDs and games there to be played. [Modesty forbids me to say who won at dominoes...] If it is cold Dave will be happy to light the fire, and you can also bring in food and wine. Now how cosy is that?

If you are investigating a first trip to Ireland, I doubly recommend that you stay a few nights, as Ireland is NOT about charging about the place ticking off things on your to-visit list. Of course you'll visit the Giant's Causeway and other places too, but your trip should also be about relishing the countryside and coast, and relaxing. Plus drinking Guinness. 

But for when you do eat out, I mention that we had first-class meals at the Bishops Gate Hotel in Derry, and The Smugglers Inn near Bushmills. Browns in Town (in Derry) also has a good reputation, or as the locals call it, Brines in Tine.

Sustained excellence

The Shola bed and breakfast is excellent. We stayed in the garden room which was lovely. The breakfast was great, everything was completely “Covid secure” and Sharon went out of her way to help us, especially with the early start for our flight home. I would certainly recommend the Shola to anyone visiting Portrush.

Excellent bed and breakfast

Just been to Shola bed and breakfast for a 4 night stay and had a fantastic time. Sharon & Dave are the perfect hosts. They have a wealth of knowledge about the local areal, their accommodation is gorgeous and the breakfasts are delicious.
HIghly recommend this place!

Amazing stay!

The Shola Coach House is the best B&B we have ever stayed in by a mile. The room and the house were superb , breakfasts were great , and Sharons hospitality and helpfullness were second to none. It was a terrific location from which to explore the Antrim coast and we will be back. We would absolutely recommend Shola to anybody we know going to the Portrush area.

Gorgeous accommodation and superb location

Shola Boutique Guest House was a fantastic place to stay. Our hosts made us very welcome from the moment we arrived until we left, nothing was to much trouble.
The food was amazing, obviously Sharon is a great cook and a great baker; you must sample all her home made breads.
It is ideally located too. You wont be disappointed if you choose to stay at Shola.

Fantastic place to stay.

We were made to feel very welcome at Sharon and Dave’s beautiful home.  The accommodation, food and setting were perfect and there was great attention to COVID safety. Sharon is a great host with lots of information and advice about the area.  We couldn’t recommend Shola more highly.  Best stop on our trip!

5 Star stay

We absolutely loved our stay in Shola. We are from NI and couldn’t go abroad this year but we felt like we were on holiday in the most beautiful location at Shola. We stayed in the garden room and it was impeccably clean with the most stunning garden view. There were so many special touches that we appreciated such as the ‘make up facecloth’, the mixture of teas in our room, a jar full of chocolate bar treats in the living room and the vegetable garden. We loved the interior design of each room in the house and especially enjoyed browsing through books in the living room. Sharon was so hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The service was first class and we were served with the most beautiful breakfast which included homemade items such as granola and breads. We also appreciated how Shola was well catered for Covid-19 with a lovely (non sterile smelling) hand sanitiser in each room and social distancing measures in place for the guests. The location is fantastic as it is just a short distance from Portrush and has plenty of local walks nearby. We couldn’t recommend Shola more. A first class B&B!

Anniversary stay

Just home from Shola yesterday and it truly is Simply Special, so much so I have booked for another stay. Every inch of Shola is superb, the house, the rooms, the gardens, the wonderful breakfasts, (pancakes to die for), not forgetting of course Sharon herself. It's like visiting your best friend, and her knowledge of the area and her helpfulness knows no bounds. The measures put in place for Covid are like all of Shola, unobtrusive, but of the highest standard, with beautiful handmade sanitizer, (like all the toiletries), which is a pleasure to use. This was our first trip post lockdown and it was a welcome joy!!!   Thanks so much Sharon and Dave. See you soon!

Shola- Simply Special

Shola coach house is just perfect in every way...location, character, charm, gardens, hosting and beautiful food. Sharon the host is so helpful and knowledgable about the area. Every detail has been thought of and in the wake of Covid 19 we were more tham confident to stay at Shola. Very highly recommend. Thank you Sharon and David for a fabulous stay!

Perfection at the Port

My wife and I have just returned home after staying for the weekend in Shola Coach house B&B. We were the first guests to arrive post Covid lockdown and we had eagerly awaited the date to finally come around. 
Any concerns or worries that we may have had prior to arrival were soon dispelled as soon as we arrived due to the obvious care and preparations which Sharon and Dave our hosts, had put in place throughout the guesthouse.
They had gone to great lengths to ensure compliance in every aspect of the guidelines and were so happy to answer and deal with any concerns we may have had.
Needless to say, everything was first class though out our 2 night stay along with one other couple, in order to maintain good social distancing.
We were cared for in every aspect of the stay, from the immaculately clean bedrooms and general guest areas to the beautiful breakfasts each morning which set us up for the day ahead to explore the lovely North coast area.
We cannot recommend this hidden gem highly enough to anyone planning a stay in the Portrush area and please do go and find out yourself.... you will definitely NOT be disappointed.
