I stayed in The Canford with my cousins to attend a family wedding at the nearby Italian Villa.  The hotel was the nicest friendliest small hotel I’ve ever stayed in.  The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the service at breakfast was perfect.  I would love to visit again sometime and would thoroughly recommend it.  My room had everything you could possible need in it - hairdryer, (and a mirror beside a socket which is not always the case), ironing board, well stocked little bar and tea and coffee making facilities, very comfortable bed and pillows and was nicely decorated.  It was also well stocked with toiletries.It was a short walk to the beautiful long beach where we walked along the prom in both directions.

Excellent two night stay

Place is spotless, oh soooo comfy beds. I had the best nights sleep in a long while. Great atmosphere downstairs during ooening hours. Breafast to die for!!

Great Stay Again

Love the decor. Great place for a short stay.

So glad we booked this place rather than a large hotel in the area that we were considering. The room was gorgeous with a big bath tub (we chose one of the big rooms). Check in was easy, staff were v friendly and accommodating despite looking after the restaurant too (special mention to Ashmi who waited on us a couple of times in the restaurant). Food is fab, especially the Sunday roast. We managed to get parking on each of the 3 days/nights we were there. The only thing to note is that the cleaners only do a “quick once over” in your rooms every morning. Fab stay and will definitely stay again and recommend. Location is perfect. We walked from there to Old Harry’s Rocks. Visited Worbarrow Bay, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and a vineyard all within a short driving distance. Enjoy!

The room was really nice, we booked a room with a 4 poster bed and a bath tub in the window. The shower was amazing, as was the bed. Would definitely recommend an overnight stay. However, where the food was concerned this was a bit of a let down, it was all a bit bland and not outstanding. I paid £36 for my steak and it didn’t even come with vegetables, just potatoes, I paid an additional £6 for the veg which was very over cooked. That’s a total of £42 for a steak dinner, in my opinion it wasn’t worth that. My wife has various allergies which I emailed ahead about but nobody had picked the email up so the chefs were left to think their feet, her food for what we paid wasn’t the best. All in all, great place to stay, not so good for dining.

Mini Break

Great venue & great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as did our Chocolate Lab! We'll be back for sure! Our room was delightful with all the amenities you could ever need inc a bed for our dog. The beach is just a very short walk & dog friendly this time of year.

Highly recommended!

3 friends out for lunch- decided on starters and dessert. Cauliflower soup- had to be sent back to be heated- sourdough twist could have done to be warm and crisp- think they had come out of fridge. Chocolate Brownie pudding awful- dry chocolate sponge- not one piece of chocolate of any kind. Not eaten!!  Whole event a big  let down. To finish the toilets we’re filthy!!  Will not be going again!!

Big Disappointment.

We have stayed here a couple of times in summer and decided to stay for a few days over Christmas. We were not disappointed. The location is a short walk to the beach and Sandbanks and luckily we had decent weather and walked into Bournemouth on the sea front, approx 2 miles. The garden was covered with a tarpaulin and the heaters made it warm enough to even sit outside for a drink, as plenty did. The rooms are spacious with a very comfy large bed. All staff were fantastic, and a special mention for Lara who made us feel welcome. Christmas dinner was very enjoyable and we went the short ferry trip to Swanage on Christmas day. Car parking is first come first served but we have always managed to get in on first attempt. We had already booked for summer 2024, looking forward to it. Thanks for a great stay.

Great Christmas getaway

We’ve just had a fantastic stay here. The comfiest bed, very tasteful, stylish details, great food with lovely local produce  and helpful and friendly staff make it a no brainer for a couple of days of very relaxing luxury.
