Fantastic stay to mark a special occasion. We had a very posh room with a four poster bed- a real treat! All the facilities were fantastic; you can even borrow tennis racquets and in the summer, there's a pool. We walked into Dorchester for a meal out and there's a nice path parallel to the main road, enabling a safe route when a bit tipsy! The room was very clean, well equipped and a really relaxing space. The host Amanda was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was perfect 👌. Only slight surprise was the shower didn't have much pep and wasn't anything special for accommodation that really is special.

Lovely accommodation for a special treat

My husband and I had a great overnight stay at this lovely B & B! Thanks to Amanda and her  team. The property is stunning, and has kept all its old charm. We loved it! We played some tennis in the gardens, it’s not flowering yet but everything seems to be  there, promising to bloom very soon, we imagine it’s stunning in the spring and summer when everything is blossoming. There’s also a nice looking swimming pool - a bit too cold right now, and obviously closed for the winter, we were sure it would be amazing to be back here in the spring/summer. Great cooked and continental breakfast, We would most definitely stay here again!!

Little Court is a charming Edwardian house, nestled in the folds of the Dorset landscape. The decor is elegant and appropriate to its Edwardian heritage, but also fabulously comfortable and welcoming. Our room was delightful, with leaded glass windows, a king sized bed, fresh, warm towels, full tea/coffee facilities and some sweet biscuity treats. Everything, including the well equipped bath/shower room was spotlessly clean. We would have stayed for breakfast,but had to get back on the road to our next destination. Judging by the standard of everything else, I'm sure we missed something amazing. We'll definitely be back!

We love staying

This is a lovely privately owned property.  Before I arrived, I read a few reviews. One mentioned room 5 was noisy due to the boiler. Supprise Supprise I got room 5. The room and bathroom itself were nice, but it felt like the water tank was above the room. You could hear it  always re filling and during the night a constant drip. Luckily for me, it rained during the night, so the sound of the rain lulled me to sleep and hid the dripping sounds above my head.
Breakfast was great. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Just try and avoid room 5.


Great, but avoid room 5

Really friendly owners. Beautiful old building. Yummy breakfast. 

But I expected more and had a very bad night’s sleep. I was in room 5. I had to ring the owner because of the noise. It was the boiler apparently, but sounded like I was in a hot tub. So loud. And when it wasn’t at full volume, it dropped like Chinese water torture! I thought I’d put the tv on to drown out the noise but couldn’t get it to work. Didn’t want to have to call again, so left it. Opened the windows for some cool air on a hot night and managed to drift off to sleep to the sound of a meditation on my phone! That lasted until 5:15am. That’s when the sun came streaming in through the cream curtains. I’ve never really seen a sunrise so that was… nice? Anyway, tried to then hide under the duvet for shade and get a couple more hours sleep. Some blackout blinds and/or curtains would be a great investment. Then the wind started rattling the windows, so had to shut them. So maybe a fan in the room when it’s hot? 

The bathroom was a lovely space and, after a day of sea swimming, I was looking forward to a nice shower. Sadly that was also a fail. Very poor water pressure. Minuscule difference between burn-your-skin-off hot and freezing cold temps and barely enough pressure to wash shower gel off, let alone shampoo. A slow and painful experience. 

I had paid extra for the great reviews and the pool. I didn’t get to use the pool. I arrived at approx 6pm and the owner had just closed it. I didn’t have time in the morning to use it before checkout. A 4pm checkin is quite late so I’d hoped to spend the evening by it. I’m sure she would have opened it back up again if I’d insisted. It was a little windy anyway. 

All in all, I won’t go back. I need a cool, dark , quiet room and it just didn’t cut it.

Lovely building, room not great

Stayed for a week with the family and was very pleased with our accommodation. The rooms we booked were clean and spacious. Bathrooms were also lovely.

The property was beautiful and came with a pool that kept the kids occupied, coupled with the tennis court that gave us some space. 

Amanda and team were great and more than helpful with our requests. 

Highly recommended 

Things I would improve: shower water pressure and Wi-Fi.

Family trip

We were three friends on bikes and had a great time at Little Court. The pool and gardens are absolutely lovely and the rooms very elegant and comfortable. Amanda and the staff really looked after us, including locking our bikes away carefully.

Fabulous stay, wonderful breakfast , gardens are beautiful, highly recommend , very central, if only the sun had stayed out a little longer we could of enjoyed the pool, and the tennis court, bedroom very comfortable , would return for sure

Wonderful break

What a beautiful period property with immaculate gardens, including a swimming pool and tennis court which guests can enjoy the use of.  We received a warm welcomed by Amanda who gave us a couple of recommendations for dinner before we went up to our room to freshen up.   

We stayed in Room 1, which was a very comfortable and large double aspect room furnished with a couple of small arm chairs with side table, a large comfortable bed and a desk, there was a flat screen TV and a plentiful supply of complimentary teas, coffee and hot chocolate and a couple of bottles of water.  There were a good number of plugs including on both sides of the bed - always useful for charging phones etc.

The spotlessly clean ensuite bathroom was well fitted (shower over bath) which enjoyed good natural light from a large window with a views out over fields and a nice selection of complimentary toiletries. 

Our room and public areas of the property were exceptionally clean and offered hand sanitiser at the entrance porch and the room where breakfast was served.  Free wifi was available and worked well and guests also had the use of a large sitting room on the ground floor.  There is plenty of free parking for guests.

After a good nights sleep breakfast was served in a bright room overlooking the garden and was cooked to perfection, smashed avocado and poached eggs and a full english breakfast, in both cases eggs were perfect.

The property is a short drive into Dorchester and is well located to visit the town and surrounding areas of interest.  Would have no hesitation in recommending this very comfortable and welcoming B&B.  Many thanks to Amanda and her team.
