Stayed here with 2 children, budget stay so don't expect too much. We paid  £20 for a late booking for the apartment. Shared bathroom. Kitchen very basic with few utensils and kettle was broken but was OK. 
The local area feels a bit run down and parking was a pain but again what do you expect for the price.
Lower your expectations and enjoy a cheap base to explore the local area.

Very cheap overnight stay

I have stayed in these apartments many times years ago and they where great. Due to this, I booked through booking.com and didn't even think to check the reviews as I expected the same as before. Oh how wrong I was.
Bullet points. 
Bedding felt like it had been there for years, it stunk and all the cotton had frayed. 
The wallpaper was peeling. 
The chair was broken. 
There was a toe nail in the bed.
The lounge had 6 old people half naked asleep on the couches and smoking I there. 
The doors where stiff and all banged loudly so if anyone moved you would hear it. 
The corridors stunk of weed.
There was no towels, clean linen, toiletries or anything. 
I didn't stay in the end couldn't bring ourselves to do it and I have never done that I have always just made do. 
Anyway, upon complaining booking.com where brilliant with accommodating is but winelodge completely ignored the complaint and didn't even respond to booking.com

Dreadful

Unfortunately planned to stay here for a week .The photos on booking.com looked clean and practical which sounded ideal. Wasn’t until we got here we could see, hear and smell what the reality of staying here meant! This wine lodge hotel is actually social housing which also is being used as a hotel. Shared bathroom with 20 others  and you need to walk through several corridors before arriving to a bathroom. No fridge, or cutterley ,no dishes nor an iron board which is basically expected for an apartment hotel, right?! Half indecent men of 40/50 coming in drunk and trying to pull onto the bathroom door handle while you’re using the bathroom because they can’t get into their own room.  The bathroom door was also damaged- looked as if someone previously had to punch through it- the wooden frame around the door handle had collapsed inside itself. Not to mention the freezing ice cold shower we had. Anyway this place stay far from it- really not worth spoiling your trip! Also a guy next door the night before had actually trashed his room.  Found out the place is used for social housing and by prostitutes.  The place looks like it  has not been clean since it was built. There is no safety as the emergency exit is left open 24hr to let some fresh air in. (It doesn’t help much)  carpark is  £24 a day .   Vomit on the stairs . Smell of weed in the corridors I emailed the place numerous times got no answered called the number got no answer   Do. Not stay here if you are stuck their is a muddy puddle beside the swans  that looks better

Smelly, sticky, social housing

Wine lodge hotel management  do not have any respect at all for there guests health or safty?
I have never seen a hotel anywhere in the world with us much Blood, dirt, grime and mould. From the walls, doors, carpets, bedding and even cups and plates are just dissgusting.

Fire stairs made from wood and cement are falling apart with rusty nails stocking out 3cm 

Windows in the loft conversation screwed shut so you have 0 ventilation!

Staff do not give a dam as all guests kick off when they arrive

Hairs, blood and sweat stains on beds

Its in short a hell hole the council and fire station need to do some checks as it is a death trap. Not even a smoke detector in the bedrooms

Sleep in your car it would be more safe and your get better nights sleep than there


Dirty, blood stained, grimy, smelly and unsafe Tip

So we arrive at 4:30 check in was at 6pm, The lady that done the booking was probably the rudest person i have ever had to deal with at a hotel. We then tried to book after 6pm and she said no she is to busy dealing with customers in there restaurant (At this time there was 1 table full haha) bearing in mind we were her customers for the hotel. The staff were also exceptionally rude! If you dont want your night ruined never go here! if i could give it 0 out of 5 i seriously would. They also are not refunding our money because apparently it was our error!!! Awful service, Awful staff.
