My wife and I stayed one night at the Craigpark Guest House.  At first I worried that the location wasn't the best, but it was less than an easy 30 minute walk to the lively Merchant City.  Thomas greeted us upon arrival.  Our room was on the first floor - two single beds in a small but quiet room.  The private bathroom was across the hall.  A strange arrangement I thought, but it worked out fine.  Included was a good selection for breakfast.  We were required to make our selection the night before, and it was ready for us at the time we set.  Free parking was a bonus.  The neighbourhood is very quite, and we had a wonderful night's sleep.  Thank you Thomas - I definitely recommend staying at the Craigpark Guest House.

Enjoyable one night stay

Having worked in the hotel trade as a manager for 20 years i always give honest feedback based on my experience.
Having read some previous reviews i was a little concerned i had made the right choice.
i was visiting Glasgow with a friend from France who is used to staying in very good quality accommodation. On arrival we were struck by the lovely garden and exterior appearance of the Guest House. We were greeted by Thomas and found him to be very polite and informative after explaining our plans during our stay. Thomas informed us of the times for breakfast and provided the breakfast menu for us to complete for the following morning. he then escorted us to room 6 a twin room with twin beds and en suite shower. The first impression on entering the room was very good, a large room very well appointed and decorated. On closer inspection I found the cleanliness of the room to be of a very high standard. After checking in and resting for an hour we decided to head off into the city for a meal, Thomas offered to book a taxi for us and provided information on possible places to eat. After a very comfortable nights sleep we made our way down to breakfast which was in a very nice dinning room and well laid out. Cereal, tea, coffee and juice was available self service and Thomas served the cooked breakfast to the table. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and well presented and the portion was perfect to set us up for the day. The following morning i had made an error on the breakfast sheet ordering only a poached egg instead of full breakfast I alerted Thomas to my error and as we had decided to eat at the latest possible time Thomas advised us that the ovens had been switched off but he would go to the kitchen and see what he could do. He returned moments later with almost a full cooked breakfast, i have a feeling it may have been his own breakfast.
I understand that any reviews on this site are subjective and open to interpretation but I am very surprised to read the negative comments of other guests. I think it is important to point out that a Guest House is not a Hotel with 24 hours reception and is a business based in a family home and proprietors have to have policies in place to allow them a private life and to maintain the property.
In summary based on my experience I doubt i would find a better guest house in Glasgow and have no hesitation recommending it to travellers looking for an immaculate, comfortable value for money establishment.

A little gem

I was travelling with my grandmother, and we stayed here for one night. Lovely neighbourhood, very quite. The space was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was lovely, it was good value. When we were there, there was a beautiful rose garden there.

Excellent Experience

Have just returned from a week long stay in Edinburgh and Glasgow, spending three nights in the Craigpark Guest House in Glasgow.  I booked this property well in advance and have to admit, having booked and then read some of the reviews on tripadvisor I was a little apprehensive. I have to say, my apprehensions were unfounded and unnecessary. I received an email from the proprietor about a week before my arrival outlining the check-in and check-out details (which were clearly stated when I booked).  Upon arrival, we were greeted by the proprietor, Thomas, who made us feel very welcome. He offered us advice on getting to and from the Guest House to where we wanted to go (City Centre/Glasgow Green).  The property is situated in a quiet area adjacent to the City Centre, five minutes walk to the Bus Stop (£1.40 to the City Centre).  A taxi from the City Centre to the Guest House costs £5-£7.  The property is beautifully maintained and the room we stayed in was spotless and comfortable.  We stayed in Room 1 on the ground floor which has a private bathroom just down the hallway.  The breakfast each morning was perfectly cooked and tasty with offers of more toast and fresh coffee.  Overall, I could not fault the Craigpark Guest House and hope it is available next year when I plan to visit Glasgow again.

Very happy with my stay

I was visiting town for a sporting event and booked into this B&B for one night. After arriving early (I misjudged how close it was to town) I was welcomed by the owner and made to feel at home. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. I was chuffed as some of the online reviews were a bit misleading. 
There were two shared bathrooms, both of which were clean and I didn't encounter any of the other guests throughout my stay (I'm fine with this arrangement, however, my wife wouldn't be keen). 
Breakfast was good but could be improved (though for the price of my room, I couldn't complain, really). Thomas was spot on - slightly baffled by some of the negative comments I'd read (maybe it was the guest, rather than the host?).
I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Glasgow.

Pleasantly surprised

Location was a little confusing to find - esp from the train stop.  Site is neat and tidy. Room clean and adequate -- the available chair is folded up against the wall (probably easier to clean than if it's unfolded for a guest).  Owner sent me notice soon after my reservation that the Rules do not allow checkins after 9pm.  So, I got my tour to drop me off early so I could get a closer train; arrived around 7pm vs. 8:30. Owner said they were going to take the evening off since I'd arrived early, so I must not lock myself out because no one would be available to let me in.  And I must close the front door when I leave, if I went out.  No, I could not have breakfast because the Rules say that meals start at 8:30 on Saturday.  And I must leave by 8:00 (by cab) to arrive on time (9 am) at my destination 1.1 miles away. No, I could not have a scone to go because the Rules don't allow take away and the Rules require that they account for everything they serve (this might be a legit health regulation). And I must be on the curb so that the taxi driver would have to come up the walk to ring the bell. Thomas does not smile.  No he could not provide me with a local map.  However, on later crossing the hall back from my ensuite bathroom, I noticed they had a whole pad of tourist maps -- so I took one.  

My room had a view of the lawn, shrubs, roses and hedge which were meticulously maintained. Clean. Owner seemed to dislike me on sight -- I'm a solo traveler with a carryon, daypack, chinos and sneakers.  Owner minimally helpful, not particularly gracious or customer oriented.  He did offer to arrange a cab from a company they regularly use for guests.  Cabbie was much more friendly, gracious and helpful.

Site is fine; Owner not very welcoming, a little hard to find, and many Rules.

Although the room was spotless . The welcome was far from friendly especially from the owners wife . She obviously sees guests as a complete burden . The place is central for most places or a short cab ride away but if your looking for a friendly Scottish welcome I’d give this place a miss .
