Absolutely amazing food! One of the best lunches I’ve ever had in a pub! The burgers were immense and the crispy chilli beef was the best I’ve ever tasted! Wonderful staff, very little waiting time and the homemade chips are out of this world! Can’t recommend highly enough!

Perfection pub food

We were visiting the Scarborough area recently and it was very quiet everywhere.  So we went out looking for somewhere nice to eat in the car, and found exactly that one lunchtime at The Royal Oak, Moor Road, Near Filey. The food was excellent, hot and lots of it at a reasonable price. The bar area has  a nice atmosphere with a log burner which was kept going by the lovely staff.  It was so good we went back the following lunchtime and had something different off the menu.  Give this place a try if you are in the area, you can spot it from the main road in your car.

Lovely traditional eating pub with great food

Excellent meal, served quickly and politely. Excellent value for money and fabulous family atmosphere. The pub is well maintained,  spotlessly clean. Catering for families of all ages and inclusive of well behaved dogs🥰

Family meals in friendly pub atmosphere 

Really nice quiet location. Nice spacious and clean cottage. We stayed here during a brass band weekend away and having the cottage to come back to during the mixed weather was really nice. Great hosts and very supportive when we had any questions.

Clean, spacious and 100 times better than a caravan!

Amazing family run business food top quality,service quality,a big gang (34) of us from our  ⚽ tournament all rocked up together and they knocked it out the park like it was a service for 2.💪🏼🤗😋

Royal Oak Dining @Filey 

The check-in was quick , friendly and efficient, and I was surprised to find I had a one bedroom cottage and not just the bedroom I had assumed - it was well appointed and very comfortable - free parking - ideal for families as it has indoor and outdoor play area 

A relaxing stay 

Great overnight stay in our motorhome. It was very quiet at night and we dined in the restaurant where we had large portions of great quality food at reasonably prices. The staff were lovely and helpful which made for a fabulous stay. Will definitely be stopping here again.

Fabulous break

Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Royal Oak. From arrival to departure we were made so welcome by the fantastic family who run the business. The cottage we stayed in was immaculate with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Undoubtedly one of the highlights of The Royal Oak is the beautifully cooked and well presented food from the extensive menu. Every meal we had was delicious and the Sunday carvery was one of the best I've eaten anywhere. The hardworking staff served us all with a smile and stopped for a chat even though they were very busy, and it was lovely to see that dogs were welcome in certain areas too. All in all it was a great break with reasonably priced food and drink with the bonus of being ran by a lovely family who clearly take pride in what they do. We will definitely be back.

Fab stay

We stayed here for our Summer holiday. Made to feel welcome as soon as we set foot in the door. Very friendly hosts, Family run pub with all members proving to be accommodating, they couldn't do enough for us. Upon arrival we were informed we'd been upgraded to the Family room as it was available which was a pleasant surprise. Especially for our 10 y.o son who was expecting to be in a bunk bed to now having his own room with a personal tv. We had our own double room with tv, with separate bathroom with bath/shower Breakfast was included, Food was excellent and very tasty with a good selection. Being a Dog friendly pub, It gets very busy day and night. Great location for visiting local coastal towns of Filey, Scarborough ( For Whitby) and Bridlington all Accessible by a convenient local bus service that stops a little walk away from the pub. So we only had to use the car once all the while we were here. Overall we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Royal Oak and our Holiday in North Yorkshire. We will definitely stay here again when we return!!

A Great Place to Stay!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we had such a great experience. This is a dog friendly venue but the dogs had to be in the older part of the restaurant and we were in the which i presume was the newer part. The newer part had more modern decor and the older part had the more traditional decor. The staff were absolutely amazing from the team working the bar to the team working the floor. Nothing was to much bother for this team and was nice to see a good working environment. The food was top notch i must say. Before we ordered we were looking at the food coming out for other people and just knew we were going to enjoy whatever we ordered and we were not disappointed.  When we ordered for my mother we asked for less chips as she isn't a big eater and was very kindly offered the children's menu which was perfect as not meny venues offer this for grown ups.  children's play area looked very well maintained and safe  all in all was an amazing experience and full credit to the owners and the team.
