The pictures online are completely different.. we stayed in Bottle Top. The outside is disgusting and not the same as pictures and what I expected. 
Weeds were everywhere, broken slabs near door. not safe for children. 
We have an email stating there will be bed & breakfast, we asked what time to expect it when we got there. For her to tell us that it was ‘3 years ago’ they stopped. Also no paddock for dogs. And no garden. 

Relatively clean inside the cottage, however few cobwebs. But it’s very old so what do you expect. However I found an old pair of dirty knickers in the bedroom which is unacceptable. Owner came round the next day to remove them. 

Bed was comfy, had everything you needed, included iron, ironing board, hair dryer, towels. 

Overall, regardless of the issues we had, we had a brilliant time and lovely to spend time as a family. 

Not the best, wouldn’t stay rebook in a hurry. 

Myself and my young son stayed in foragers a Monday- Friday,  there should have others in our party however there was an unfortunate last minute change in circumstances.  Pre arrival communication was good and hosts were able to communicate through Google chat which was helpful. Beautiful rural location,  which Is perfect of your looking for that but it is a  20 minute minimum drive to anything if your planning trips out. We came to see family locally so that was the purpose of the stay.  
The cottage suited our purpose however could have been cleaner - dusty cobwebs and food on the wall by cooker etc, dried food stuck to place mats. I brought a few cleaning bits so got on with it l. Very hot inside- windows are little ones in the ceiling and there was quite a bit of debris on them which prevented me from opening as we didn't want it dropping down on to beds/floor. Cottage door would not lock from outside with the key. This didn't really affect our stay though but could be an issue. Only found one cooking pot which again would have been difficult if there were all of our party dining as intended . Beautiful garden,  been and butterflies but a little spoiled by the cigarettes over the floor and empty cans in bushes

Quiet rural location

Booked here for a 50th birthday weekend gathering for friends and family from far and wide.  Searched for the best area that would work for myself and guests and discovered these cottages.  Only able to book the the adjoining cottages - Bakers, Weavers and Foragers as Cedar was booked for a wedding party (Bride and bridesmaids - looked ideal for this).

The 3 cottages together were perfect for our gang with the perfect courtyard for our BBQ and celebrations.  

The rooms, showers, living areas and kitchens were perfect.  Clean, tidy and really pretty.  Lovely rooms and beds for all the guests including our dog.  We were made to feel very comfortable and welcome.  

Will highly like book here again for a convenient location for friends and family meet up in the future.  Highly recommend it.

Really lovely little gem

In January last year (25/1/20) my wife purchased a gift voucher from this company for a course. Due to the pandemic the course was cancelled so my brother and his wife could not attend. They check to see if the same course would be run now we are out of the lockdowns, only to be told Bay Tree no longer run these courses. My sister in law asked about the cash paid. It was explained that this would be refunded.

My wife has had conversations and exchanged a thread of e-mails attempting to obtain her money back. Alas after many promises  Bay Tree Cottages and workshops have  not so far made that payment to her. 

My advice is beware with this company if you pay them for services in advance, if they cancel you will not receive your money back.

Extremely suspect refund policy for company cancelled course.

Disgusting smelly dirty cottage. Key left in door no one picked up phone when we tried to call. 

Bed upstairs not made with Valence sheet just bare divan. Towels where crusty and dirty kitchen floor cups brown with stains cooker dirty. Bin filthy I could go on and on! You get charged £20 for cleaning!!  By who?? 

Booked via booking.com host refused refund as we did not call to get cleaner to rectify. Would need a deep clean at 9pm not sure how that was going to happen.

Owners not contactable their reasoning it's an old cottage! We live in a 200 year old barn conversion old but not dirty!

I am shocked this was a weekend break after our wedding the hosts were aware of this! 

We ended up moving to the Marriot Hotel which was lovely. 

Booking.com won't help owners missing in action called all numbers no response. 

Save your money and avoid.

Bottle top cottage

Brilliant, homely cottage, full of personal touches, including fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge and some welcome sweet treats on arrival. The views from the bedroom window were a delight to wake up to, and there's a great local pub 2 minutes walk. Excellent location for local canal boat trip.

Excellent Property, exceeded expectations

Rather than use a Premier inn for a business trip I stayed at Crockery Cottage (part of Bay Tree) and i am delighted that i did.

The cottage is gorgeous, with lots of space to relax, good cooking facilities, a very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. To cap it all, the owners Will & Helen are lovely.

Outstanding Character Cottage in Idyllic Village

Stayed over for a couple of nights. We booked the two cottages - Crockery and Bottle top. Very cosy, comfortable and super warm. Not huge but ample for a few nights stay. The accommodation is open plan and the stairs are spiral so if you have mobility issues or very young children this may be an issue but we were fine with our 7 & 9 year old children. My parents who booked the 2nd cottage in their mid to late 60’s were also fine with the cottage layout. Continental Breakfast provided was ample and a good variety provided. Living room and kitchen was comfy with lots of plug sockets for devices to be plugged to be charged/ used. Sofa bed needed some attention and the hosts were made aware of it and also we noticed that the mattress needed a good vacuum as we saw lots of dog hairs all over it, but forget to mention as we didn’t use it only tried to see how it works. Bedroom and bathroom totally adequate and the bed, pillows and duvets were very comfortable! Hosts were very welcome too. Would return again. 

Lovely little cottages-cosy and warm

The website offered so much promise.  Our requirement was location which was excellent, the rural setting was just what we were looking for.  Off-road parking is good and provides security and ease of access.  The layout of the offering was ideal for our small family and met our requirement fully having a very useable and accessible space.

I was disappointed on a number of levels, communication on arrival, was poor having been given contact details I could not use as the owner was aboard unknown to me and I was given no other contact details, we therefore had to wait until the caretaker arrived back from a trip.  The construction of the property is unfinished both out and in with raised manhole covers on the approach to the entrance and inside MDF pipe concealment panels have not ever been painted or sealed, some electrical attention has taken place some time back but the plaster wok has not properly finished or repainted.  Our bedroom door was missing the lock and so could not be closed.  Having researched the reviews on the property and noted that one person had thought the property was dirty, happily dismissed this as the majority were all positive.  but in my opinion the bathrooms require a deep clean, the beading although clean is not professionally as suggested in a post online laundered in my view, the crockery was grubby and needing to be washed on arrival and the sofa has unfortunate stains on them.  These may seem minor to some, but for £400 for a 2-night stay, I expect more.  As a closing point, we also had difficulty using the cooker and required to look online for instructions. This is not a high-end property but so easily could be if finished and maintained better.

Expected so much more

We actually booked this property through booking.com for our wedding guests. I can no longer leave a review on this site so would like to write on here.We booked out nearly all of the property for the week of our wedding. All the properties we booked, particularly the stables up at Little court Yard were very disappointing. Some of the properties claim to sleep 2 extra people than they really do. In one of the properties the extra person has to sleep on a camp bed in the stairway/landing. We felt that the photos of the older properties up at little court yard were misleading and certainly not kept as they were shown in the photos. All the properties were pretty dirty, untidy and all the new builds were not properly finished. we informed Jenny of the problems which she did try to fix most of them, and she was very accommodating but still we were pretty embarrassed at the state of the everywhere, particulary as our guests had flown from the opposite side of the world to come here and were so excited. It was such a shame as the properties could be amazing, in such a gorgeous location and wonderful little old buildings.
