It was our 1st anniversary Leslie was very rude asking my husband why we was late the time is in the contract agreement, 
on the saturday evening we was going for a meal, I walked out of the gate Leslie
shouted get out of my gate my dog does not like strangers. 

 I was very shocked as i had discussed our anniversary, Leslie apologised to my husband and not to me.  The most worst customer service i have experienced   
She was shocked, which then Leslie replied i apologised to you, which she meant  to my husband when my husband said she upset me we booked another hotel in bowness, she still charged us for the night never again what a rude lady, very rude

Rude Landlady

Firstly, I would like to say I had stayed in Lesley's delightful B&B, but we never got the opportunity.
After booking for a one night stay, my partner received a copious amount of emails, to the point he had to stop reading them to deal with his own customers and run his own business .We arranged to set off to Cumbria early afternoon after arranging our plans for our day. Just before we were getting into the car , we received a phone call from a very direct owner asking "where are you?" at 13.42pm , we explained we are just about to set off and asked for the reasoning behind here concern for our whereabouts. The response we faced was " You do Know it is a 1pm check in, it is in our terms and conditions." 
We were shocked firstly, that the check-in was 13:00pm and secondly, what was more concerning was the tone of Lesley's voice and the fact she persistently repeated, "have you read the terms and conditions?". My partner explained that he had not read them as every B&B has generic terms and conditions and with the amount of emails he received, he just didn't have the time to read it word for word.
The conversation got a little heated as my partner explained that as the customer, it would be nice to be treated as one, rather being treat as an employee. Lesley then proceeded to say, "I am not prepared to discuss this now" and put the phone down on him. After the initial shock of that, Lesley then rang him back only to shock us even further by saying "I am prepared to let you stay if you check-in after 18:00pm when I get back ". We tried to convert that again we are the customer and we don't understand why the check-in is early and so strict and that a 18:00pm wasn't a fair suggestion as we would waste a full day waiting for the late check-in time; My partner tried again to explain that we are the customer Lesley replied “And I am the owner “ Lesley again put the phone down...
Let me explain that I have worked for a blue chip company for 21yrs and I have been trained in customer service to the highest level, My partner and I, both have and run our own successful businesses. I have stayed in many B&Bs in your area and in fact all over the world and I have never had a situation where the check in is so early. Most hotels and B&B do their upmost to stop people arriving before 3pm. But then for the owner to patronise us by saying "well you're not travelling far " was unbelievable. If I ran my business like you and spoke to the customers in that manner, I would re-think my vocation in life.
A suggestion for future refence Lesley, "Flexibility" is a great attribute in customer service and remembering that in hospitality, now more than ever, the customer is a key part to a successful business. 
Please do not remove my comments as I have noticed that some have been taken down when they do not praise your wonderful B&B.

Lost for words ....... customer service nil

A lovely welcome, polite lady owner and the view over the estuary from our room was superb.

Arnside is a little jewel on our coastline and the area is beautiful looking over towards Grange over sands.

Number 43 was sold to me as being the very best, we paid top price and the welcome was lovely and it’s in superb location but the room needs a coat of looking at. It’s set out very well and we were impressed with the space and the bathroom is lovely but it needs to be fettled up to 5 star to achieve 5 star. There was dust all over the skirting tops and on other surfaces and the toilet hinges , in true four in a bed style, tack. Don’t get me wrong- it wasn’t mad filthy but the usual 2 star cleaning effort can’t be expected to be appreciated at 5 star price and other establishments close by were neither bragging 5 star nor charging 5 star. We wanted 5 star but probably only sold 3 star. A dirty mark on the carpet and light bulbs had not been wiped in years. It’s a real shame it’s being aloud to show some tiring edges as the place on a whole is very nice, staff lovely and the breakfast was very good, though black pudding made locally and of exceptional taste was part of the menu plan but not delivered because they had run out! My taste buds suffered. I ask you. 🤣 My advice to the staff and owners , all lovely people , to either attend to the 5 star detailing and bring it back up to fit the bill or shave the price perhaps. You can’t have it both ways. Visitors please don’t be put off entirely but for those who can be bothered it might be worth trying a barter if improvements are not addressed and complain on arrival OR book with a neighbour at 30 to 50% less perhaps because Arnside is brill.

Fabulous view

We had a really lovely stay at No 43. Lesley gave us a warm welcome and accommodated our request for an early check in. 

The room was clean and huge with amazing views of the viaduct. Due to Covid , Lesley offered breakfast in our rooms. We just pre-ordered the day before and each morning it turned up on time. It was delicious and it felt like a real treat with lots of choice. 

The little touches make a difference like the home made flapjacks with fresh milk to make tea & coffee in the room. We also ate our fish & chips on the b&b terrace - Lesley noticed and came out with proper cutlery which was kind. 

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place - we didn’t want to leave. Thanks to Lesley for taking good care of us! 

Wonderful stay at No 43! 

We were originally booked to go to Southport but the hotel we had booked wasn't opening until the end of July.  This weekend break had been planned for my OH's birthday and with the limited choices available we booked Number 43.

We stayed here in the second week of July, so things were quite new for the owner and staff and for us with regards to Covid rules.  I think we had room no 3 and it was a spacious room with enough wardrobe space for our stay.  Lovely big comfy bed and tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar which included free water and milk.  The flapjacks provided were delicious.  The bacon at breakfast was very tasty and there was a good selection on offer.

The village is small and as we stayed the second week after lockdown not all places was open.  We walked up to the top of Arnside Knott and if we were to stay longer there seemed to be plenty of walking opportunities.  

All in all we had a very enjoyable weekend break and Lesley was the perfect host.

First break away after lockdown

Gorgeous Victorian house with stunning views over the estuary. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Friendly owner & loved the little touches- local produce, soaps/creams plus the outdoor patio was great. Will definitely revisit but ask for a front facing room next time.

Fantastic B&B

We booked through the Cumbria tourist board and have to thank them for putting us in touch with Lesley at Number 43. She put herself out to accommodate us at a difficult time for an essential reason. Her hospitality was excellent. The facilities were as advertised and the location excellent for exploring the Southern Lakes.

A lucky find.

Excellent clean, comfortable accommodation breakfast in the room with beautiful views made very welcome by Lesley a must come again destination. Easy access from station good food can be had nearby. View from bath relaxing and awesome

Beautiful f

Beautifully appointed extremely comfortable 5 star boutique guesthouse in Arnside. This is our second visit staying over the Christmas holiday visiting with my son from Australia.  Looks directly on to the Estuary. Three of us were staying in two suites. Delightfully comfortable, beautiful bedding, gorgeous toiletries and the breakfasts are absolutely tremendous with lots of choices local produce and very tasty. The host Lesley is a real character a complete treasure.

No. 43 Arnside Boutique Guesthouse

We stayed a Number 43 for one night. 
Warm welcome, and lovely room. Spotlessly clean. Room no.7 has a lovely view. Breakfast was yummy both me and husband said it was best cooked breakfast we had eaten in a long time!- thanks Lesley hope to stay again.
