Sunday lunch at the Station Hotel and Kitchen is a little gem buster of phoawness. The chef really knows what he’s doing, don’t get me started on the puddings.........yum. Great pint of Harvey’s from the bar and the wine selection is good. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Myself and my husband have dined here on previous occasions. We had friends visiting from the West Country and had to take them there. ALWAYS the most exceptional welcome to diners and pub clients . Steve the pub landlord has to be one of the best customer services people EVER. Our waiter David was fantastic. Polite and charming and any request never fazed him. The food was exceptional. Ambience superb. If you are ever in need of a place to dine, relax and enjoy - this is most definetely the place to go. 5 stars plus .

This place has great service and amazing food, since it was taken over it’s a completely new experience and a top restaurant with first class food and a well stocked bar. Risittto was spot on as were the main courses 

Our friends live just up the road from this undiscovered pub in Brighton which was not exactly desirable before the new owners took over...now it is a super place for friends to meet for a meal..with gorgeous food...great service...off the beaten track. We all had amazing roast dinners....wish I had taken photos...so much to enjoy...fab roasties,sweet potato,fresh lovely greens( my favourite)cauliflower cheese..best Yorkies ever...dessert to die for....we will be back...😘

A very nice place to stay.  We had a room with ensuite, very clean bright and fully equipped for our needs. There's a shared kitchen where there's everything you need to make your own breakfast when you want it. The pub itself is great, staff and locals made us feel welcome and we stayed to watch the rugby with them. Would recommend this place, it's also very easy to get into Brighton with the railway station and bus stops close-by.

We had a couple of days in Brighton and found the station kitchen and bar by accident. Was a great find! Food was lovely and the staff fabulous - really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit. 



Really nice room and the man in the pub below was very helpful but the only thing that let the stay down was the other visitors! They ate most the breakfast food the night before and they were really noisy then we were woken up at 3am! Because they had Locked  themselves out and tried banging the door down! Which was actually really upsetting as it ruined our stayas it was our anniversary! The room was very clean with everything you need and parking was fine. I would of preferred not to have a communal kitchen because of the idiots that stayed that night.

I've read some negative reviews on here and must say I'm puzzled. It is right opposite the train station...err the clue's in the name!! Personally I would rather the relatively distant rattle of train tracks than the buzz of heavy traffic you get elsewhere. 

The entrance is to the side of the pub but that is not a bad thing. As for security - you have to pass through THREE doors which are opened with keys to enter your bedroom. It isn't Fort Knox but seemed secure enough to me. 

Clearly, there are more swish parts of town but this was perfect for us as we were attending a party within walking distance in Preston Park. The room and bathroom were clean and very presentable. 

Breakfast is DIY, so you could eat a croissant (very passable continental offering) and have a cuppa before heading into town for some brunch if you can't be bothered to cook. 

My only moan is that they didn't heat it before we arrived. Really that is unnecessarily tight. The very nice chap from the bar sorted that out though so by the time we returned from the party later that evening, it was warm and toasty! 

He didn't know how to turn on the bathroom radiator towel heater (it's the big red button on other side of wall).

Cheap pleasant overnight stay

Although the room was very clean it was cold and the heating wasn't on, we did ask for this to be sorted but nothing was done, so we ended up sleeping with a jumper on, No where on the website did it say we would have to cook our own breakfast, which was consisted of Bacon and eggs only, The pans and cutlery had to be washed up before using as they were very greasy and the microwave was absolutely filthy and disgusting. Also very noisy due to station being so close and there was no double glazing to ease this, would not recommend

Not what I was expecting

Well when i booked i was given the impression that there was parking available, i arrived to find this wasn't the case. Parking was permit only outside the hotel until 8pm, and you must be gone by 9am the pub manager could only suggest i park on double yellow lines or drive up a steep hill away from the hotel and park. He did help me carry my suitcase up the many stairs to my room. Breakfast is included if you cook it yourself! not something i was informed of, and not something i was able to do wearing work clothes, and i didn't fancy being stood in pyjamas in a shared kitchen. Description said tv, kettle and tea and coffee facilities in room, NO it wasn't! i couldn't go and get a nice shower and relax in my pjs as the kettle etc was also in a shared kitchen. 
Then to top it off the train station which was supposed to be a 4 minute walk away was actually directly opposite the hotel, so on a main transport link with trains very frequent, right up to 2am and started again at 4am, there is no double glazing just old sash windows. When i arrived i was taken round the back of the pub and up a wooden fire exit stairway and told not to shut the back door or i would get locked in and wouldn't be able to get out, my bedroom door was the closest to that unsecured door. I felt very vulnerable as a lone traveler and being female, once the pub manager locked up and left i was lone in the property until midnight when i heard someone come into the building and had no idea of whether it was an intruder or a fellow unfortunate guest. i had 1.5hrs sleep and felt very deceived.

Trains all night, door to building cant be secured, so felt very vulnerable and cook your own breakfast
