Visiting friends and needed somewhere to crash and found this fitted our budget and area.  Very convenient for the station and shopping.  Was £85 for a studio apartment.  We were met by Paul who showed my partner to the room.  I stayed in the car as parking was not included though can be booked in advance if required but we were driving to the occasion we were attending.  It was very bright, clean and well appointed.  The bathroom was exceptional.  Very modern and functional.  The kitchenette, though we didn't use it, would be good enough for simple meals.  If booked in advance I think you can get these rooms even cheaper.  We will certainly use this again now we know about it.

Easy, clean and good value

The apartment was lovely - exactly what we needed when staying over for a wedding weekend at the four seasons. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we could need. The staff were a bit useless however, we had to call 3 times to get someone to give us a key. We parked where instructed and they seemed unable to find us. No directions were given on check out so we had to call again.

Great apartment, staff were a bit useless

I stayed in a studio apartment, it was booked through my company, looked OK on booking.com. I arrived a little late and the man that treated me was very gracious. He took me to the room, on the 5th floor, and was treated with a nice looking room. There was no parking on site, so parked at the station which is a short walk away, a little inconvenient. 

I started to explore the room, and it was basically a catalogue from ikea for the furniture and wilkinson for everything else. 

The flooring was tatty....as was the floor in the bathroom. But it was clean and well equipped. I slept like a baby

As a frequent business traveller, I think the idea of flexi-lets is great, but I would expect a slightly more refined experience. Cheap plates, cheap toiletries, cheap and thin toilet roll and non-lined curtains. It just seems it's all done on the cheap and that just puts me off.

Central location, but not again

Nice clean studio apartment, with everything you need. Big Waitrose close by for shopping. Perfect for couple nights stay whilst on business. Also close to station and shopping centre. Parked at the station, as no parking if you book a studio, it's  expensive at station, but it's close by. Check-in was quick and easy and a member of staff contacted us the day before. All in all I'm very happy with what I've got and you have everything you need for a couple of nights whilst on business.

Great for business trips

Smart Stay Skyline Plaza is not what you would expect when booking a stay for your family.  Most accommodation that advertise on main booking sites are able to arrange a baby cot; Smart Stay cannot even with 1-month notice.  Most hotels have parking - they do not.  Most importantly, most hotels offer some level of customer service.  They DO NOT.

After arriving late afternoon to Basingstoke, I was greeted by Paul who introduced himself as the owner.  Despite my booking 1 month in advance, he emailed me at 1pm on the day of our arrival to inform me there was no parking at the site.  I was given a pass to offload my luggage and 9 month old child and park 10 mins away at the local shopping mall.  Paul felt this was a great solution.  Next I was told that the request I had made through the booking website for my baby cot, had not been received, and he could not arrange a baby cot.  As we were tired we decided to go up to the apartment and make the best of this situation.  In the lift, Paul continued to protest he had done nothing wrong, and because we didn’t respond to his email he assumed we weren’t even showing up.  He felt we should be grateful for him allowing us to even stay there.  He stated that he has a right mind to ask us to “leave and go somewhere else”, because of our complaints.

I took him up on the offer and left.  The smartest thing you can do is not stay at Smart Stay Skyline.  This place is a joke, and clearly run by a man who owns an apartment in a building pretending to be a hotel.
