Dirty tired bathroom, bulbs blown, remotes not working.
This whole hotel needs knocking down and starting again.
Expensive machines.
no cafe.

In need of an update

Any faults with the premises are common to travelodges and should not be blamed on the staff, the manager in particular regularly goes above and beyond with limited manpower and resources.    Corporate travelodge should fund regular deep cleaning and schedule more frequent maintenance and upgrades at all properties, after all they're still issuing key fobs and actual door keys into rooms that seem to have been last decorated circa 1992.  These hotels are only worth staying in at dirt cheap rates because of the amazing staff and after a very cautious inspection.  There are some mould issues because of the age of the installations, particularly in some bathrooms, as well as rust.  Even the youngest housekeeper knew to check that the disabled alarm cord was fitted to the floor and there's provision for the HoH and Deaf.  However because of the age, the accessible room still had a bath.  Some breadth and turning issues with a power chair.  There's no lift to the upstairs room and unless you've the auditory ability, patience, energy and time to persist with a national telephone line to specify your needs then it's very much a room lottery.  (Their IT skills also evident in the fact that the link to cross post a review to TripAdvisor doesn't work either).  The staff on-site will apologise profusely but again this could be easily handled by corporate in a more efficient manner, especially as many other chains manage to do so via email and directly to the specific hotel.  Overall worth risking a biscuit for simply because of the manager and staff.   To them, thank you.  :)

We have stayed here many times and are always sure of a warm welcome.

The hotel is very convenient for travel to and from places on each side of the Severn River and is situated in a very quiet, yet easily accessible, spot. 

Comfortable and quiet room

Very disappointing stay at this Travelodge for business last week. Allocated a room just off the main reception on the ground floor. 
The lighting in this room was very dim and worsened by the bedside wall lights, one had a permanent flicker while the second didn’t work. The light in the entrance was very dim with a lamp cover full of dead insects.
The handwash holder in the bathroom was hanging off the wall.
Worse was the sheet on the bed which literally just about covered the mattress top. As soon as you got in bed it was creasing and screwed up. A very uncomfortable nights sleep.
This travelodge is in need of some serious attention.

Worst nights stay for some time.

I've stayed in a few hotels in the Avonmouth/Aust area recently for work, this Travelodge is one of the better ones for sure. Clean, comfortable and very quiet - perfect when crashing out after work. Take a walk up the path to the end of the hill for a brilliant view over the Severn. No restaurant or bar here, which I knew in advance, but there's services nearby so food is close. Friendly greeting at reception too. Overall a nice little stop off and would stay again for sure.

Quiet and cozy - one of the better Travelodges

Avoid at all costs, the rooms and corridors not hoovered,sheets had bloodstains on them,scumm round bath,broken toilet seat, 3 staff smoking front of house in hotel doorway,Checked in ,checked out immediately

Filthy

Stayed here for business, the room was extremely tired, bathroom very basic. No plug sockets near the bed. TV is tiny. Staff emptied the bins outside my room in the middle of the night... genius. The breakfast, what a disappointment. No hot breakfast or a place to sit, just a miserable box with vaguely edible items in it. I easily get indigestion, so all I could eat were the cornflakes, which tasted like cardboard. Honestly just knock it down and start again. Went to review on Google, I imagine there's a reason new reviews aren't accepted. I have to say, the staff were nice.

Basic, old tired rooms, noisy, too warm, and you call that breakfast!

 Cheap clean and good price, it’s a Travelodge not a boutique stay so boring box. 
Signs to enter are good given the mini maze involved from motorway. 
Otherwise easy access to Wales/ Forest of Dean and Bristol/Bath M4/5 etc.

Clean simple and acceptable

We were unable due to phone signal book a room for the night.  We went direct to the hotel but were advised a booking has to be raised on line.  The receptionist raised a booking for us after several attempts, Chel-C also had network issues.  The booking was finally raised including confirmation of debit card.

We cannot thank Chel-C enough for her efforts.  Thanks for a lovely stay.

Going that extra mile

I had a lovely stay thanks to Tyler and Jacob they made me feel very welcome and when I needed a top up they were very nice about helping me they made a quick fix of my sheets and replaced my tea and coffee
