Bizim başımıza gelen de Idil E.'nin başına gelenin çok benzeri.  Arkadaşımız rezervasyonunu iptal etmek istedi, küfür yedi.  Otel sahibi arayıp arkadaşımız parasını ödediği yere gelmeye kalkarsa "fena olacağını" söyledi.  

Biz o saatte artık başka yer bulamadığımız için gittik ve kapıda sopalı adamlar ile karşılandık.  Kalmadan gittik.  

I had a very similar issue as Idil E.  Our friend tried to cancel a booking and they did not let her.  The "owner" lady insulted her on the phone.  I later received a call from the "owner" gentleman the day of our stay and was threatened not to bring my friend even though she had already paid and had not been refunded.
  
Since we could not find any other place that late we went there anyway.  We were greeted by thugs the door.  After more threats, we left without staying and were never refunded by them or by booking.com.

Uzak Durun / Horrible Owners

As a group of 5 close friends we were very excited to stay at Bardacık - a hotel that we had left with very fond memories after our Alacati holiday 5 years ago. Upon arrival we were surprised to find out that the hotel owners had changed and we were "welcomed" with a very bad attitude. The owners were far from pleased to see us arrive at their hotel.. 
The room we were given was barely enough for 5 people to stay on their feet. The ceiling was so low, one of our friends hit her head badly and had a small concussion. The lighting in the room was very dim. The extra bed that we were given could only be suitable for a 7 year old child. Even our smallest / simplest request (i.e. to be provided with a mirror in the room) was met with absolute disgust. The hotel owner lady said "this is the first time I am hearing such a request".. The worst of all, our room was NEVER cleaned , our towels were NEVER changed during the length (4 days) of our stay! There is nothing good about this hotel apart from the location. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

Absolute horror / REZALET!

This is a small boutique hotel, located at trendy Alacati zone. 

Rooms are lovely with air conditioning. Bathrooms are brand new and nicely decorated.
You need to keep in mind that:

- the sea is not a walking distance (especially if it's a hot summer day). It's handy if you have a car. Well, while you are in town, if you are curious about different locations in Cesme, you better have a car anyways...
- If you enjoy windsurfing though, you are in the right area and you'll get to the surfing schools in less than 4-5 minutes with your car.
- There is also a cute pool. Since it is a boutique hotel (with limited rooms/guest numbers) pool is not very crowded. However, I had some sanitation issues: even though there was a shower, none of the guests were taking a shower before jumping into the pool. Maybe it would help to put a sign to ask people to take shower or re-locate the shower to a more visible location? Anyhow, that was my observation.
- The hotel has two lovely dogs. The small one is extremely friendly and will accompany you even at your table :) So, if you are afraid of dogs or for some reason don't enjoy their company, this is another issue to keep in mind.
- The owners are a lovely couple. Very polite. 

We would definitely consider spending another vacation with them.

I'm sorry to say but the owners are a couple of crooks. I booked a room there through booking.com, which they charged me right away. Then I wanted to cancel my reservation so I called the hotel. The lady who owns the hotel became very rude after she heard that I wanted to cancel my reservation. She didn't help me at all, just said that I had to cancel the reservation through booking.com. When I cancelled, she said that she wouldn't return my money back. At that point, I was very confused because she didn't inform me about this policy right until I cancelled my reservation through the system. So I asked her to re-activate the reservation that I already paid for but she said she wouldn't. I think that's the point when she started yelling me. Believe me, it was horrifying. I called booking.com for which I probably also paid in my telephone bill 20 euros or so, said that they couldn't do anything either. Which means that I payed silly sums of money to Bardacik's owner plus my telephone company but ended up empty handed. 
It could sound a bit of a cliche but I believe that the goodwill is the most important thing a person could have. The owner of this hotel doesn't have it, I'm sorry to say. There are many good hotels at Alacati, I'm traveling there regularly. Do yourself a favour and don't go to Bardacik hotel. Anywhere else must be better, I promise.

a horrifying experience.

I booked a weekend trip here with my 11 year old son, and it felt as if we stayed with our favorite aunt and uncle.  We were treated like family during our entire stay!  We decided to eat dinner there both nights, and the food was better than any restaurant could ever serve in the area.  Uğur Hanım and Songür Bey ensured we were comfortable and warm by the fire every night.  Breakfasts were unlike anything I have ever had in Turkey, and I used to live there!  The homemade preserves Uğur Hanım makes are so delicious I bought a small sampling of each to take back home.  I am already booking my next trip to include a couple nights at their hotel.  And Alacati is just a 10 minute walk away... perfect location!
