Bamboo Hut Bangalow

For anyone who's nervous about the "bamboo" part, these simple but sturdy bungalows are insulated inside with fiber walls to keep out the critters. Each one has a furnished porch, high-quality wood floors and furnishings, comfy bed with cascading mosquito net, and a clean concrete bathroom behind. The whole place is nestled into a birch grove and beautifully landscaped by the landowner. Charlie Beach is five minutes' walk away, and motorbikes and bicycles are available for rent out front for exploring the rest of the island. Most importantly, however, the couple who runs the place are the sweetest people ever. They were unfailingly helpful and can organize any excursion you need. I also loved the vegetables in the scrambled eggs.
