The hostel sits right where the action is, Shilin Night Market.  We could just go down from our place and enjoy street food right away.  

The beds are really cramped in a tiny room but, for the price, it is manageable.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and we did not have a problem as the people here are very accommodating.

I think they can improve on changing their bed frames because some of the screws are falling off and when I get down from the double deck bed, I got a bit of a scratch because of an exposed screw which lost its head.  This happened as well to the bed of my brother-in-law.

Perfect location!

nice facility, clean wash room and comfortable sleeping bad. Using ic card to enter each door and make sure no  others will come in.  Convenience location, where nearby you can find food and shop like 7-11 and  family-mart all the way.

nice hostel

I came with 4 friends and stayed for 4 nights. The hostel is literally near the Shilin night market and just across the MRT Jiantan station. Though you should really email the hostel if your check-in time is after midnight. The hotel staff was very helpful. She even arranged a taxi for us for our Yehliu, Shifen and Juifen tour tough the driver speaks not so much English. The breakfast provided (bread, jam, butter, coffee, tea) is enough. One could easily prepare their tea or coffee all day long. The shared bathroom is kind of small in size though but very clean. Toiletries were provided except for towels. There was also a laundry area provided. All in all I would personally recommend this hostel.

Hotel review

Beautiful place, super clean, free water, breakfast and laundry. WiFi works perfectly, staff very helpful. Very close to night market but still very quiet. Good location Only missing thing is cooking facilities

Like home!

The principal reason I recommend this hotel is because I had been well-accommodated by the hostel's staff, Kristy and Alice (then one email from Angel), from my inquiry to the end of my family's stay (totaling 30 email exchanges) in this quiet little hostel. 
I was so worried for my little sister who decided to take 3-day vacation in Taipei (May 6-8) on her own bringing with her, her 11-year old son and my parents who are 68 and 72 years old. This had been her first time to travel without a "seasoned" traveler with her and in a said to be "non-English speaking" country, thus my endless worries... I've searched and made inquiries to various B & B and hotels recommended by a friend, TA and other review sites. I contacted them through their FB account that advised e to email them for faster response. 
Except for some minor glitches, the hostel had been excellent for the accommodation my family have had.  
The hostel also assured me and stayed true to their promise that there will be somebody to meet my family when they arrived at 1:30am (the hostel staff is only from 9am-10am). 
The staff told me that I would feel relieve to know that it is a kababayan, Maria, who will welcome my family, thus, they will not have problems with the language. Maria works for the building and not the hostel but she made sure that my family had settled quietly in their room and gave them helpful advise on getting around the area and Taipei. 
I hope I can personally thank Alice and Kristy who extended their hand - and they speak very good English also!

Excellent place to stay in Taipei

Even though there is lot of option for good hostel in taipei, I always stay at Fun Taipei hostel everytime I'm back to Taiwan/Taipei. Centrally located in Shilin area, just 5 min walk by to shilin night market and find cheap food street, this hostel has made me fall in love with them since my first night. Karen, the manager, is very friendly, and they serve free pizza and coke/wine every week to celebrate new guest coming! What a Fun Hostel!
They also provide kitchen to cook, fridge to keep your food things, and washing machine with spacious place to dry your clothes. They serve free breakfast (toast with jam) and tea or coffee - if you feel bore with the menu, you are free to cook in the kitchen :)
