Elite Hotel Mimer

After admiring the beautiful building, walking up the red carpeted steps immediately had me feeling this was going to be a memorable stay and it most certainly lived up to expectations. We were early for check-in and thought we would ask if we could drop off our suitcases however we were told the room was ready by a charming person on Reception. Our room was on the fourth floor and was characterful, impeccably clean and comfortable. Some tea and coffee making facilities were available and there were toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with crisp, cool linens and sleep was incredibly relaxing. The Breakfast the next morning was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. There were many varieties of cheeses, smoked salmon, ham, eggs , bacon, beans, salads, overnight oats, cereals, dried fruits, preserves, pastries and a waffle maker. The waffles were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle - delish! Great coffee, a choice of teas and refreshing fruit juices too. After breakfasting for 5 mornings there were still many variations of breakfast I could still have eaten. We ate one night in the hotel restaurant and both chose the burger. It was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted! Wine and local beer was good. Chatting with our taxi drivers, residents of Umea and staff, it seems everyone is proud of the hotel that was originally a school and rightly so - it's one of the most amazing places I have stayed. Every person who worked at the hotel was outstanding, a delight, always charming, accomplished in their roles, knowledgeable and helpful. They were all a credit to Hotel Elite Mimer. We had the most marvellous stay during our visit to attend WRC Sweden. Heartfelt thanks to all at the hotel and I hope that you all experience such a wonderful trip at some time.
