Villa-serenity

This homely little gem of a guesthouse situated on the outskirts of Weligama was the perfect place for us to setup base for 4 days over the christmas period. The whole family at Villa-Serenity were so lovely, welcoming and kind, everyone of them really made for a comfortable relaxing stay and made us feel so at home which was nice especially over that time of year being away from our own families at Christmas. The guesthouse is only 100 metres from the sea and the distance from the main town and beach centre is only a short 10 minute walk along the beach. The guesthouse has two really comfortable, clean, spacious modern rooms with free Wifi throughout the property, which was perfectly strong enough to Skype home on christmas day. The guesthouse also offers Tuk Tuk and bicycle hire and has a big garden and outside area so parking if you have your own vehicle would not be a problem here. They have a couple of communal areas one inside and the other out and also a rooftop sun terrace where their delicious home cooked food is served. The family very kindly cooked us up a huge beautiful Sri Lankan feast on christmas day with complementary beers. They also organised an awesome whale watching tour for us on the morning of christmas day where we saw many dolphins and majestic blue whales; a truly amazing once in a life time experience. One of the sons also offered us free rides into town and along the main stretch of the seafront whenever he would see us. Also he collected us from the bus stop when we arrived and took us to the neighbouring town of Mirrisa one evening. They really couldn’t have done any more for us if they tried, such fantastic hospitality throughout our entire stay. If you want a friendly, homely, comfortable stay, with fantastic food, Sri Lankan hospitality above and beyond and all that for a great price then Villa Serenity is ideal.
