We stayed one night with our 8 months old daughter. The host is very friendly and made us a delicious dinner. The room is basic, a bit warn but charming and with and an amazing view to rice paddies. Value for money is high compared to the rest of the city. 

Value for money and great host 

it's a small guesthouse with clean and comfortable room,  but outside the town,  if you need restaurants,  book a tour to Norton Plains,  be prepared to pay extra for pick you up or tuk tuk service. The place is not easy to find, a tuk tuk driver that know the place is rare.  Even the tuk tuk driver called the guesthouse he couldn't find it without stopping many locals on the way to ask information.

Nice room,  bad location

THE MOST TERRIBLE LOCATION EVER! DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!! And here is why:

1. I was told on phone that the place is 150m from Gregory's Lake. But it was over 2km away.

2. I specifically asked whether a Toyota PRIUS can enter the hotel, and the person who picked up the phone confirmed. But when I went, the road was berely motroable and it is really difficult to reverse and get the car to the building. Plus there are vegetable dealers lorries parked blocking this narrow path and I had to beg them to move their lorries aside to pass throu amidst a lot of difficulty.

3. When I checked in, the caretaker of this property [there is only one person] did not know that I had booked. He was looking at me like an alien. Then he called his master and said I can take my room. 

4. The room is horrible with not even a bottle of tap-water kept. A dark and very mushy kind of a room with no sense of holidaymaking. No tea/coffee and not even a bottle of refilled water from the tap. Just room and a very uncomfortable bed. 

5. The hot water ran out of supply in the morning while I was having a shower and then I tried settling in just cold water and that also stopped. Luckily I managed somehow with the icy cold water to complete my shower. And there is no phone or bell in the room to call and tell the caretaker. When I eventually went down and asked, he simply said that water in the tank would have run out.

6. They do not offer a cup of tea at least and food was out of the world for them, he looked surprised when I asked if food is available. 

7. Then to add to all the bad effects, the place does not have signal for Dialog. So it cuts off from total connectivity with world. No TV, no newspaper, no WiFi and no signal for mobile phone. 

8. They just had one miserbaly broken plug-point [power source] and had to somehow plug in my charger to charge the phone.

9. The whole building [I cannot call it a hotel] is rather unfriendly, unwelcoming and not pleasant enough for a stay in overall estimation. 

The Nightmare of Life! Never Ever Go To This Place!

We found this place from internet and booked for one day,for bad weather last week we dicide to postponed.informed 2 days prior but owner was really rude and he was not a flexible person that to transfer the advance payment to anthr day or refund.please be careful when your booking this place.

Never book this place.

This hotel was by far the worst place we stayed at in Sri Lanka - and one of the more expensive. If we had the option, we would have left this filthy place and immediately gone to another hotel. If the sheer uncleanness wasn't enough, there were pigeons living in the ceiling above our room which kept us up all night. As an added kicker, we were served orange Tang and cheese sandwiches for breakfast by a man who didn't address us with so much as a smile during our stay. Despite the heavy rains, the hotel also somehow ran out of water so we couldn't shower in the morning. Yep - never again. Avoid this place like the plague.
