We knocked on their doors more by accident, but were welcomed warmly from the first second. Luckily they had still a chalet available. We stayed for 3 nights in total but could have stayed way longer. Our host was more like a friend all the time.
And honestly, I had the best seafood ever in the restaurant right there.

Amazing Hideaway

Our second visit to Tranquality, the first was 3 years ago.  Lovely to see that nothing has changed, proof that if it isn’t broken don’t fix it! Udara kindly picked us up from Ella and we stayed for 5 relaxing days.  Breakfasts were plentiful in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.  Hired bikes again and explored further afield.  Beach is close and clean.  Thank you again for a wonderful stay...

Loved it the first time, still love it!

We spent 13 nights at Tranquality Chalets and it was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful accommodation in lovely surroundings, and without doubt the best service we have ever experienced, anywhere in the world! 

Our stay included two family birthdays and also Christmas Day, and Udara could not have done more to make these occasions feel special. He was also incredibly kind to our children, playing games with them, finding treats, and teaching them how to spot crabs in the sand. He went out of his way to show us the local area and give us a memorable experience of visiting his country. We were genuinely sad to leave. 

Exceptional 

We loved staying at Tranquality and wish we'd stayed longer than two days. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Our cabana (which although is described as the basic room on site) was one of the best places we stayed on our trip - really well-made and homely. And one of the big selling points for me were the owners themselves. Geri is the hostess with the mostest. As an American, she really does understand the hospitality industry. So simple things that are often overlooked in some of the other places we stayed (such as a shelf rack in the bathroom to put toiletries, mosquito coils in the rooms) were all there. She's also always on hand for a chat or to offer help and advice if needed.

The food was also excellent. Geri's Sri Lankan husband is a chef and as well as breakfast, we also ate dinner here on one of the nights. I'd call it modern Sri Lankan and up there with the best meal we ate in the two weeks.

The beach is around a 10 - 15 minute walk and it has to be the most beautiful beach I have encountered. Clean, picturesque - and very quiet. After we left Tangalle, we went to Mirissa and Unawatuna and although it was good to see them both, I am so glad that we had some time to experience it here.

The nearest ATM is Tangalle so if you're not heading into town, bring some cash (although Geri kindly arranged for a tuk tuk to take us into the town on our final day and we paid him instead). 

All in all, I couldn't recommend this place more. Thanks for your hospitality!

Definitely tranquil and perfect

As a smooth start for a longer trip to Asia we booked 5 days in Tangalle. The chalet was very clean and comfortable in a garden with plenty of animals (not disturbing). The food (Sri Lankan breakfast and Curry/Rice as dinner) was awesome, one of the best in our whole trip in Sri Lanka! Udara, our host, was the highlight...he showed us whatever we wanted to discover and helped organize trips. Sometimes he even came with us as a personal guide...and after a while as a friend! Thanks a lot for this amazing stay!
