Ayaana boutique was our first stop in Sri Lanka and Rowena so kindly and masterfully introduced us to the amazing country with her recommendations. The rooms were clean, well designed and stylish and Rowena was able to accomodate to any of our requests. Breakfasts were delicious and catered well for my dietary requirements (gluten free). Rowena really went above and beyond to help plan our stay, organising guides and drivers and doing much research for us. We highly recommend staying at Ayaana.

Funky and comfortable

This wonderful hotel located just outside Kandy (20-25 min drive) was truly a gem!  The room was large (walk-in closet), modern and clean.  Loved the set up of king bed for us and 2 twins for the kids.  We arrived fairly late after a long day of travel and they made us a great dinner with no notice.  Rowena and the entire staff were so kind and courteous.  Breakfast was delicious and plentiful!  For dinner, we all loved the chicken curry with all the acroutements!  Would highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

Fantastic family friendly boutique hotel

We stayed here with our two children )
(5 and 1 year old). The staff was super friendly and very sweet towards our children. The food was really good and our room was spacious and clean. We will defenitely come back here!

Amazing hidden gem

Nice,peaceful location near Kandy town.Hotel is a family business.Staff is very helpful and polite,room was spacious and clean.Restaurant was also excellent.If you need to go to Kandy then you will have to use a taxi,tuk tuk or rent a scooter but this was not a problem for my staying.Overall i would recommend this place for relaxation and family atmosphere.

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely modern and very comfortable hotel. Yes it is a little way out of Kandy but it is in a great hilltop area with wonderful views and cooler temperatures in the evening. 

But what makes your stay there is the wonderful hospitality and service given by Rowena and all her team. They couldn’t do enough to ensure that our stay was first class. Rowena offered great help by email before we even arrived at the hotel by arranging rail tickets for our onward journey to Bandarawela and transport from the rail station to the hotel. She also arranged for our laundry to be taken care of and a brilliant driver to take us on guided tours. 

Then there was the food!  Just fabulous. Chandra would ask us what we would like to eat for dinner and the most wonderful home cooked Sri Lankan food would appear from the kitchen. Absolutely superb. You can have either the western or Sri Lankan breakfast- try the Sri Lankan option! 

The hotel doesn’t sell alcohol but there is a wine shop about a 4 minute walk away. You can bring your own wine or beer back into the hotel to drink. Chandra was so helpful in providing buckets of ice and beer openers! 

When we left to go on our 6 hour train journey to our next destination the chef had prepared a fabulous takeaway of fried rice and vegetables plus fruit and water for the journey. It was so good and a million times better than the plastic food and wet sandwiches that appeared from boxes given to the guests from 5* hotels in Kandy.

Extremely helpful reception desk - they really went out of their way to arrange customized and yet surprisingly affordable tours with your own driver.

Excellent litte hotel

We got to stay at this cozy, stylish and modern looking boutique hotel just for one night at the recommendation of our tour guide! Simply best stay so far in Sri Lanka. What made it even nicer was the family vibe and friendly lady owner - so warm! Definitely recommended! They also have a nice pool with a nice view :) loved it there! Too bad we only stayed for one night! Food was also okay!

Beautiful Hotel

Fantastic family hotel although a little away from town. Best part was the manner in which we were looked after by the very kind family. We had a superb vegetarian meal prepared home style by the family. Excellent housekeeping and the boy helper was fantastic- he went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.  I would suggest that the place does NOT need a gym or swimming pool and the space with the bar etc is all wasted and that they are better off having rooms instead. Little out of town but the stay was fantastic
