A house became a HOME 

Sanjana Home Stay is very exceptional. Sir Shantha, Lady Dammika and their two children are incredible gentle and extremely helpful! You really feel immediately at home. There are spacious rooms with AC (Airco) as well as rooms with non. The breakfast they serve is delicious and you can eat lunch and dinner as well. Very tasty!!!
Wifi excellent, warm water in bathroom and serviceI never had before! Great value !!
Sir Shantha is à very experienced nature guide and safari jeep driver!!! Please go on excursion with him, you'll never regret!!!

When a house becomes a Warm Home

What a wonderful place- both the host family and the space. I concur with what all the other positive reviews say. 
I had a great 3 night stay in the tree hut; a comfortable, clean and tidy self contained en-suite and with balcony. And the softest white towels in Sri Lanka!!
The hosts- including their helpful chatty 12year old son-are welcoming, helpful and friendly. 
Habarana is superbly located for the ancient city sights. Using the homestay as a base, i spent 2 days with Mr Sanjana on safari, and visiting Sigirya, Dambulla and Ritigala. As they said-it worked out cheaper than tuk tuks! He was a diligent and informed safari and tour guide, and s conscientious driver. 
Dinner and breakfast- and the occasional snack-  are varied and plentiful and a great insight to Sri Lankan home style cooking. 
It’s a great place, offering great experiences. I recommend, and would return. 

Superb Sanjana

We travelled for 2 weeks around Sri Lanka and this place was one of the most special. The family are lovely and welcoming, with nothing too much trouble. We went on a safari with the husband and really enjoyed it. Our only regret was not eating there as the other guests said it was delicious! 
Would definitely return!

Made is feel so welcome

We recently stayed at Sanjana Home Stay for what ended up being 4 nights, as we did not want to leave! We had absolutely wonderful time for a number of reasons:

- A beautiful family own this homestay and treated us with kindness and welcomed us into their family (thank you for the delicious food, and great convos with the kids!).
- The detached bungalow-style room we stayed in was large, clean and comfortable, with a nice balcony to drink tea on and observe the garden from.
- We saw monkeys, monitor lizards and giant squirrels in their lush fruit-filled garden. 
- Location is fantastic - we visited Ritigala and Pidurangala by bicycle and did a Jeep safari in Kaudulla. Also, close to Habarana town, which is handy for cheap eats & atms! 

Overall, we had a fantastic stay here, truely relaxing, and a highlight of our trip (thanks to the family). We hope to come back one day!

Delightful Homestay 

Lovely family. Very friendly and accommodate your every need. We stayed 3 nights, had delicious authentic Sri Lankan food, both dinner and breakfast prepared by owners. 
Spacious, clean room and bathroom. Good wifi. Great advice about catching local buses and places to visit. Highly recommend staying here! 

Fantastic stay 

Myself and 3 friends arrived at Sanjana the same day we arrived in Sri Lanka and stayed for 2 nights. Our arrival time was later than expected (9pm instead of 6pm!) yet our lovely hosts were so welcoming and made us tea and chatted with us. The room was a good sized family room with a nice bathroom. Breakfast on the first day was traditional Sri lankan style and the second day we had jam toasties, fruit and tea. Beautiful area with lots to do and see nearby including Elephant safari and sigiriya rock.
