It is very well centrally located and clean hostal. Staff kind and helpful. Fantastic historical town.

Spent one night in september 2011. Arrived in the afternoon, the staff was very busy serving food to the people in the restaurant (which is the main activity of El Rastro), but in a few minutes someone came to take care of my reservation. For only 35 euros I got an excellent room with double bed, air conditioning, TV and private bathroom, really beautiful and very clean. After one week in Madrid's crappy hostals, it was like a dream!
The only improvement that I can suggest them is to provide internet connection to guests. They actually have a Wi-Fi network, but it's locked and private. When I asked for the possibility to get a temporary connection, their answer was a sharp "no". Shame on them.

Excellent, but no internet...

We came in June 2011 and booked two rooms as they couldn't provide an extra bed in the double bed room. However as the price is very affordable, we didn't mind for it.
When we came, it was already almost evening. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The car park is just nearby the gate where el Rastro is located. 
The room is basic, but really clean. The wardrobe is made by wood and in the old style model. 
The restaurant and the lobby gave us the feeling of a hunter's cabin (and true indeed, in the past, this hostel was used  as a gathering place for hunters). 
Although it is such a small hostel but surprisingly quiet and we could have a good sleep. 
The bed was basic but again surprise us as it was quiet comfortable. 

This hostel is located not far from the cathedral, the house of Santa Teresa, and just beside the city wall.
Nice city indeed and can't help to have a feeling that we stayed in place that already exist for years.
