Cozy and comfortable place. Easily accessible. Three issues to improve on:1. Despite the fact that I had booked 3 weeks earlier, the housekeeper did not have my confirmation. Although it was eventually sorted, it leaves one to wonder.2. Wi-Fi was only accessible in the main house and not in the rooms3. Dstv was not accessible. I had to watch crucial World cup games on my phone.

Gold Reef Place review

Place was not very neat. Beds were ok, warm. Breakfast was horrid, cooked my own breakfast on day 2.
Was very disappointed with a group of girls that were staying on the premises for one nights, they were rowdy and drunk, noise started at half 10 at at 2.30am they were still at it, banging doors and breaking glass. They even broke the basin unit in their room. Did advise Wayne, via sms, not much done.
Also checked out early and asked for a refund on one less guest and breakfast which was included as the details show padkos for early departure, was advised by staff there was no such thing. So requested refund but 2 weeks later still waiting for refund.
Definitely would not recommend. Parts of the kitchen was covered in grime.

I needed accommodation in that area and this place was perfect for my needs. There is secure parking. My evenings were quiet. Hosts were friendly and the staff were helpful. The room has everything you need and there is wifi. Small fridge and a microwave. I didn't stay for breakfast, but it is included. Would stay again if in that area...... 

Business in the area

Was great. Ivy and Lesie really kul, had a nice filing breakfast. Room was good, little chili when it’s cold in jozi.

The accommodation was incredible and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and this is real value for money. 
The rooms are spacious and clean.  The free WiFi was and added bonus. 

Overall my experience was wonderful and it is really good value for money.

Value for money!

I stayed at the guest house on the weekend of Soweto Marathon. From the time  I booked until my checkin the owner answered all my questions. The area is clean & safe and also close to the popular Gold reef theme & casino.The room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was homely and we enjoyed it so much. A day before the marathon we received nutritious food parcels since we were going to leave for the marathon at 4:00 AM.Finally the owner allowed us to take a quick shower after the marathon. I highly recommend this place for those participating in Soweto Marathon or watching a match at FNB Stadium. It is an excellent value for money. Also there's loads of entertainment just around the corner.

Best place for Soweto Marathon / FNB Stadium

Guest house very client and guest friendly, safe with secure parking. Food was excellent and the free WiFi was a great bonus. Rooms very comfortable, i felt very at ease with the shopping center and Gold Reef Casino just down the road, we were able to walk there, very convenient.

Won't be visiting again...but then again,there are many places i can go to

The location is very good for attending a business meeting near Gold Reef City Casino and Theme Park.  The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast was always ready and very good.The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable.  The guest house is in a quiet area of the suburb and it helped having a shopping mall 200m from the guest house.  The guest house  offers free Wi-fi and secure parking.
