Glenashley has a village type charm and this venue is ideally situated only 40m from the beach, close to the M4 motorway. Shops and shopping centres are a stone's throw away.

Thresa is the friendliest of hosts and Gertrude is a star!

The proximity to the beach was wonderful. Parking for all visitors was not practical as it only has one gate and clients then have to park each other in or move at risk of damaging a car. The curtains are very thin and do not allow for a dark enough room to sleep well. The TV in Room had to be left on and channels could not be changed. Attention to detail in both Room 1 and 2 are lacking and a fair amount of work is going to be required to bring these rooms up to an acceptable standard.

Breakfast was good and well-served by the lady on duty who was very helpful to try and sort out the few problems we had. Thresa and her husband, the owners, did make an effort to assist us in correcting the problems we had for which we were very grateful.

The new owner is turning the place around and thats a good thing because once the major reconstruction is done on the immediate left adjoining this establishment it will be a bit more securish.

A un intruding large, almost complete building to the right as well, so there could be alot of noise from time to time like knocking and banging as it gets done but we left early in the morning.

Right on the beach, so great view and the owner let us park in her garage for a bit of safety as we were travelling and had a car full of bags etc.

Clean rooms, alround fine for a stop over.

The owners were extremely welcoming, the breakfast was extremely enjoyable and the area is really beautiful.

The overall impression is okay but in need of upgrading in some areas - would we go again - no -

I really would like to chalk up our experience at Dolphin Coast to the fact that there was construction being done, but I’d be lying. First, when we arrived the owner asked if we wanted two beds (we are an interracial couple), which was a strange thing to ask because I think it was very obvious that we were together. However, given our other experiences in Durban that racist assumption made sense. Second, the owner claimed that we could only pay in cash because f the cost of using electronic payment systems. Third, the room is itself was nice looking, but missing parts of the drapes and we were given really faded and slightly smelly towels. Also, the TV was supposed to be included in the cost, but was not working in the room. Thankfully we were not there for DSTV. Fourth, when we took showers that first night we noticed that the door leaked. The continental breakfast was fine – not the freshest of choices of muffins, fruit or cereals. Also, there was no filtered coffee in the morning, which is standard these days except for the room coffee selection which I expect to be the freeze-dried stuff. The cooking/cleaning staff was great and also helpful with some questions and concerns we had. Last, the owner was supposed to give us a receipt for our stay, but avoided us the whole weekend that we were there. While the place has potential, the owner, unfortunately, does it a disservice.

Perhaps It Was The Construction, But I Doubt It...

Personal attention from owners was great, especially the late checkout on our last day was greatly appreciate. Our room was large enough and bed comfortable. The noise level from the air conditioner unit was a bit too high. 

Comrades long weekend 2015

We arrived before the check in time as we had activities planned for the rest of the day, the owner told us she's do us a favour and let us check in which was nice. We got to a room the toilet was not working, she said she'll sort it out. As we were about to leave my husband tried to lock the door and realised it's also not working then the owner said it's safe we  can sleep without locking. "I lost it"  demanded another room. She said she does not understand people who makes booking via groupon and demands a fancy room. At end we got a different room also have broken blinds. I will never come back to this place again.
