It's a very good experience ,the room service was good especially the bell boy prasath is very kind
The bathrooms are very good and the swimming pool was so neat the room service was so fast and food is also good

About Hotel

The hotel staff is very friendly and the manager was even more accommodating as we had to split our check in days because we had an emergency  could not check in on our booked datesThe food is also delicious, their room service also very good

The revamped Savera hotel has a new touch of class which was really expected from times past, a great selection of Durban curries to choose from, either take away, pub style or sit down restaurant area to choose from. 

Best part about the place, it captures the historical event of the arrivals of Indians into South Africa and particularly in Durban, the largest population of the Indian community out of India.

The walls of the restruarant depicts many artifacts of the ship logs and pictures of the arrival of the Indian some 150 year ago which tells an interesting story. 

Not the typical take away

It's a cool place but the towels we're not so clean the next day. Breakfast was not delivered on time..we waited for so long it delayed our plans for the day. The service was not so good but the place was quite good for the price.

Having never stayed at Hotel Savera (I don't think I ever will given the location, the tote, etc.) we do frequent the restaurant for a few beers and a meal. The popular mutton bunny is a winner, one of my favourite in KZN. The service is sharp too! I'm not convinced by the hotel but the conference facilities, bar and restaurant are winners.

A seriouly underrated bunny chow

Last September my family of six +a Kiwi mate visited SA and stayed at the Savera. We had an awesome time. The manager - Tony and the maid Nellie worked hard to get things right for us. It was like a home away from home. The little inconveniences did not take away from a lovey stay. I will return when I re-visit SA.

From Auckland to durban

Food was good, flavoursome, tasty traditional durban curry bunnies - was good to have cornish chicken bunnie. value for money. service was slow understandable as the waitress had to service the bar and restaurant area.

The hotel has been renovated in year 2015 and it seems millions of ZAR spent on it to give it an impressive Indian culture look. It's matter of pride to have such Indian hotel in center of Durban with all facilities like typical Indian restaurant, casino, horse racing batting and gambling machine.
Though the Owner is very kind and full of dedication, its not him who run the business on day to day basis. This is what makes the experience worst for the guest like me who stayed there for almost 3 months !!
The housekeeping is poor as they don't change the towel and bed cover regularly, reception is poor, need to beg for milk/coffee as these are not topped up on daily basis, missing breakfast items, Poor response on any service request made, Long waiting time for food and almost an hour on weekend that stops you from eating there. Even not given a room as promised with a proper view.
Peoples working there are of soft and friendly nature and I am still trying to find out on what stops them from provide better hospitality ? 
As there are many hotel staff meetings going on almost daily basis, they need to brainstorm on how to make the guest experience better with prompt and improved service. All the best and would like to see such Indian hotel growing in south africa.

Very Good Potential but Poorly Managed

The bed was comfortable, we requested extra pillows and did receive them. The air-conditioning isn't very effective. Everything advertised, was not supplied...The water pressure in the shower, was ridiculously low...
