As a frequent business traveler you get in most of the fancy hotels of the world, but for this trip I had chosen a small boutique Hotel on the little Island of Saint Martin, Paula's Country Inn in Cul de Sac. The checking was cool, Paula who is the owner was there and because I booked via Expedia all was good arranged. Her Son Delano welcomed me also, the personal touch I got on checking you will not see in any business Hotel.
The hotel is situated in the residential area of the Island and it will give you a good feel of the local  hospitality. People are just so friendly. the owner showed me the room which was a nice large apartment with everything you need either for a short or long stay, Kitchen, 2 sofa's tv but who needs one on a Island with that much beautiful beaches, nice bathroom with Bath and shower. Bedroom is a family room with one king and 2 single beds air condition that works. All was very clean. if you are looking for an upscale Hotel go to the Windsor but if you are looking for something local with everything you need go to Paula's Country Inn, a small very clean swimming pool and hot tub on the first floor with a stunning view of the Island and some seat to relax. On Sunday the owner brought me a delicious local breakfast, very much appreciated.
This hotel/apartments will make you feel home and gives you a local experience..

Feeling Welcome

Costs for short period and long period are way too high for what you get. And that is even exclusive cleaning fee. After all still not clean room. Wifi is poor and located far away from Philipsburg or Simpsonsbay

Not well compared their price

Welcome in one of the worst and criminal part of the Island! Besides that the owner is not trustworthy. The appartments are not clean, beds are small and old. Swimming is. Please pay a bit more and take a room somewhere less criminal. Everything is old and dirty at paulas... 

Very bad place to stay, only if you want to have a bad time!

One the worst experience I have ever had.
I booked Paula's Country Inn via Expedia, as indicated I got in touch with the structure before my arrival to agree with check-in time. They confirmed everything was fine and wished me a safe trip. 
Just after the next day on our arrival, the hotel was suddenly overbooked with no room available for us!!! They said they realised it the day before our arrival but they even didn't try to get in contact with us, just wait in the case we didn't show up... 
The owner, never showed up, never met him, told us Expedia made mistakes with reservations and booked the same rooms twice and even 3 times! He was trying to let me cancel the reservation and asked for a refund, before finding another accommodation. 
He was trying to cheat me all the time! I had to call Expedia and inform them, at this point Paula's Country Inn found me another hotel and asked me to pay entirely the standard tariff, he didn't even inform the second accommodation about this mistake, I had to deal with them with everything. 
He tried to cheat me all the time. And locals told me it's quite common for Paula's to go overbooking, they do this all the time!!! 
For any reason, DO NOT GO THERE!
