We stayed for 10 days in July 2015 (sorry this review is so late!). The location is amazing - however, it is recommended that you hire a car, as the hotel is rather up in the mountains and the nearest store and restaurants are a little drive away. The house itself is beautiful - lovely, peaceful grounds and a nice homely feel inside. We stayed in the main room with the hot tub. The room is underground and although views are limited, the windows show the cliff face, which is lit up at night time by outside lights - truly beautiful and unique! The owners and their family are lovely and very welcoming, as is the maid who put on a delicious spread of food for breakfast each morning - no request was ever too much. On our last evening, the family cooked us a three-course meal and gave us a gift. They are so kind and we miss them dearly! Vale d'Azenha is definitely a hidden gem - we will definitely be back! :)
