My room was very clean, they have a cook in the surfcamp all meals were included in my package and the food was amazing. Oscar the Owner makes bbq as well , and it a great time outside with the the other tourists. There's a nice park right in front of the surfcamp and has a playground for kids. The surf spots are 5 to 10 min walk away from the camp.
Everyone at the camp is super friendly and have your best interest always.

Excellent place to stay for surf and to make new friends !

I have been coming to this surf camp for many years, because the waves around it are amazing and the people at the surf camp are the friendliest I've ever encountered on my trips.
Their rates are amazing and include meals too, which is amazing.
The owner, Oscar is a super nice guy always willing to go the extra mile for his guests.
I strongly recommend this place for everyone looking for waves, a safe place to stay and looking to meet new people and relax.

Best place to surf, meet new people and have a good time 

We had an amazing time and couldn't recommend staying anywhere else. The owner Oscar is the perfect host and been in the business a long time knowing all the local surf breaks and when they will be working. I would definitely come back if I'm in punta hermosa again.

I don't think TripAdvisor was around when my boyfriend and I visited Pico Alto Surf Camp back in 2004.... so here is my review 8 years on... 
We had the most amazing time with Oscar Junior, and Oscar Senior. At the time, Nestor was there, and Johanna. The food was incredibly good, the prices so fair, and the surf was constant, fun, with plenty of options for every level. A little tour of the area, and a quick peek at where Sofia Mulanovich grew up... all part of the service which made us feel more like we were visiting friends than paying guests. We were getting ready to visit the colder areas of Machu Picchu and the crew here lent us warm jackets for the journey... just really trusting, honest, enthusiastic people. 
A 45 minute car ride from Lima airport (get the guys to pick you up or arrange a taxi for you) was very convenient. 
If the owners are still the same, you can be sure that this place is a winner. Thanks for amazing memories!!

The great memories have lasted years!

I spent several days at the Pico Alto Surf Camp and loved every minute of it. It's a laid-back place with a dormitory feel to it, but each room has its own private bathroom (with hot water upon request), TV, DVD player, DVDs, and books. The decor is all surf. Stickers advertising surf shops and products decorate the doors and bedframes, and posters on the walls advertise surf gear and contests. Wetsuits and beach towels are draped across every window sill and bannister.
For the incredibly low price of US $35 you get a room and three amazing meals. Mabel, the cook, makes the best authentic ceviche you could ever hope for. Giovanna, who handles  reservations, speaks fluent English. Oscar, the owner, is friendly and welcoming. 
Giovanna will arrange for a surf guide to lead you to one of the many nearby surf spots. There are waves to suit any ability level. My instructors, Piero and Alex, were patient and endlessly good-natured. I'm a beginning surfer, but even the hardcore Brazilian surfers staying at the surf camp made me feel welcome. On Friday night everyone gathered at the grill outside for Peruvian barbecue.
Air conditioning at surf camp means you open your window. This is not a spot for tourists or families. The Pico Alto Surf Camp caters to those serious about surfing. I can't recommend it highly enough for those surfers looking for friendly, no frills accomodations with really good food. I can't wait to go back.
