31 reviewsI prefer staying in Lambayeque as a base to visit archaeological sites (Chiclayo is so ugly) plus most of the museums are here and this is a great way to experience a small, local town in Peru. I have stayed in San Roque before and look forward to staying here with the delightful owners and friendly staff. Piedra (the wife) even invited me to join her for lunch today...their cook is excellent and I felt so honored to be asked. As it is a restored colonial home, you do need to turn the shower on a few minutes before use to get hot water (common in these restored colonials). I prefer the room on the ground floor (which is dark) so I leave my windows and curtains open if I'm here in the afternoon. The natural sunshine is sufficient. At night it's a dark room. The rooms on the second floor overlooking the pool are much lighter. The best part of staying here are the people who own and run this. The owners arranged my transport...Señor Rojas met me at the airport and has taken me on day trips to sites. I highly recommend him. I look forward to my next stay here at San Roque.
