This place is liget from top to bottom. Scott, Mikey and staff were the real deal. We had no idea what to expect, not ever being to Bocus before. We were not disappointed! Scott is 100% who he says he is and his little piece of "para dice",is just that. Lodging, food, entertainment and surf was exceptional. Thank you Scott for one of the best experiences ever.

Epic Surf Trip

We originally planned to come down in March of 2020, but with COVID our plans got derailed. Fortunately, we were able to finally make it down for a week and couldn't have imagined a better trip. Scott helped coordinate all of the activities that we wanted to do, he knows everyone in the area. We went scuba diving, did two surf lessons, took a day trip to Zapatilla Island. We could have stayed at Red Frog Beach just in front of the bungalows and been just as happy. The hospitality, friendliness, food and everything about our trip was remarkable.

Couldn't have had a better trip

I will not try to repeat what has already been said; rather I will focus on my concerns prior to my father-son trip:

1) Safety: Non factor. Either walking on the Island or our valuables in the bungalow.

2) Family Friendly: This is not a "frat house" A family, and couple were present during our stay. I would bring my non-surfing wife and teenage daughter back without hesitation. 

3) Food: I am a snob, and the dinners did NOT disappoint! The owner would regularly bring home fresh fish for the table. 

4) Non-surfing activity: Very important for us to have things to do after we are surfed-out for the day. The town, hiking, ATV and snorkeling kept us busy for our 8 days there.

5) Accommodations: They were perfect. I was freaked out about the possibility of bugs and heat. We never had a bug bite in our bungalow and the jungle got chilly every night we were there (March). 

6) Surfing: My son and I were not nearly as talented as many of the athletes we met during our stay. Despite our shortcomings,  the crew always put us on a safe, yet challenging wave that was appropriate for our skill-set. 

In summary: An amazing experience run by professionals in an off-the-grid, island jungle paradise! I could not have scripted up a better father-son trip.

Jungle bliss

I just got back from a trip to Bocas del Toro. My kids and I stayed at Red Frog Bungalows and had a fantastic time. The service, the food, the accommodations and the activities were all amazing. I'll say that if you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, this is not that kind of place. What this place is is truly magical. You arrive by small boat taxi to the bungalows that are set in the jungle surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage and wildlife. Sloth can be found right on the property! We never saw a car or a television the entire time we were there. You can walk to the beach, fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle and waves. Scott and his staff prepared delicious food for us in the mornings and evenings. Maiky runs the restaurant on the beach (Nacho Mamma's) where I enjoyed delicious ceviche almost every day. We enjoyed surfing, boating, snorkeling and fishing all arranged by Scott. The best part for me, was knowing that we were weren't contributing to the usual waste that accompanies tourism. The resort is very eco-friendly (powered by the sun and rainwater collection). We will definitely be going back.

Amazing surf destination!

Scott and his team have Bocas Del Toro absolutely dialed. They are one of the only resorts that is located on the beach. So every morning they check the ocean and know exactly where the waves will be best that day. There were also a few times that we were able to troll for fish after surfing world class waves all morning, then we would eat what we caught for dinner. Just a great surf trip where all you have to do is surf, relax, eat, and sleep; they handle everything else for you. Other than the surf, something that surprised me was the quality of the food. Typically on a surf trip you get the usual rice beans, meat based deal. The chef and surf guide Dave, goes above and beyond to really put together high quality, fresh meals...super cool.

My stay at Red Frog Bungalows was one to remember. The accommodations made me feel like I was welcomed and the resources provided made for a smooth and worry free stay. Not to mention the waves were EPIC. The surf guides and head of the resort put us on the best waves each day. We surfed until our arms fell off and even got to catch some fish on the way home. Thanks for an amazing week Red Frog!

What a great surf destination

Best Surf trip ever! No Matter what level surfer you are the RFB  staff is ready to make you a better surfer with waves for all ages. I can not wait until my boys are old enough to make the trip with me. Perfect peaceful accommodations  in the middle of the rainforest. Great food and even better people who go above and beyond to make your trip special. I look forward to another trip to RFB.

Surf Trip

My trip to Red Frog Bungalows was the best surf trip of my life.  The bungalows were super comfortable and the whole facility was way above my expectations.  The grounds were beautiful and beautifully maintained.   The Island of Boca Del Toros is a gorgeous place with waves for all types of surfers.  With all this being said, the best part of the trip were the people.  Scott, Maiky, Dave, Ian, Chato and the whole crew made me feel comfortable and welcome from the first step on their property and then the level of service that followed was exceptional.   My friend and I are already planning our trip back next year and will go ever year until we can't walk anymore.   Thank you to everyone at Red Frog!!!

Best surf trip of my life

I stayed at Red Frog Bungalows for 2 weeks and had an incredible time. If you're thinking about going, go! They have the best surf guiding in the region. Also, the owner and crew are just a fun group to spend time with. Fantastic food. Fun, nice accommodations built right into the rainforest. Would love to do this trip all over again.
