Unbelievable place and you have to prepare yourself for walking through more than 100 staircases.
It has wonderful coffee with very kind people who they did vey unique juices.
I high recommend to visit this place but make sure you are able to walk down and up for more 100 staircases.

I was traveling with my father and the Cliff Guest House was absolutely the highlight of the whole trip. Such a beautiful space, restored to have the amenities one would expect but retains its authenticity. We loved hiking and sitting around afterward, and Mohamed and his family are lovely and welcoming. Great food cooked by Mohamed's family. It gets chilly so bring a sweater even if it's hot elsewhere in Oman! This absolutely shouldn't be missed.

The Suwgra hotel 

Unbelievable experience in mountains of Jebel Akhdar region of Oman.
Great hospitality, very good typical food but the best attraction is the location . This mountain village hotel is literally like a real Omani ancient mountain village , with the rooms “carved” in the mountains. Inside the rooms are very nice , beautiful and the sensation is a kind of a typical experience. Of course don’t expect luxury and opulence but the rooms are really very nice and comfortable ( the bathroom is in a separated place close to the main room but you can just adapt it and of course this is totally understandable in a authentic mountain village hotel). It was chilly outside but the configuration of the bed inside the room and the blankets didn’t let us feel uncomfortable. Breakfast was also good enough and the owners ( real local Omanis proud and nice guys) made all the effort to make our stay unforgettable. Unfortunately we just stay one night because of the time constraints. And the short hike in (sunset time) and out (sunrise time) was also very nice with great views of surrounding scenic mountains. The relation between price and experience for me is totally fair and worth it. Please don’t let the reviews that are criticizing the price keep you far from this experience because , in my humble opinion, it seems to me that these people weren’t aware about the place that they were supposed to go. Just one little advise , ask the hotel staff about the details of the bath and the shower work because are a little tricky to understand it. I and my wife just have good memories of this experience and we are very grateful to the hotel guys for the hospitality.

Unbelievable experience in mountains of Jebel Akhdar region of Oman

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was hands down the most unforgettable and special place we have ever stayed.

Everyone who works there is lovely. The rooms and bathrooms are done to an extremely high standard and the food is delicious. Whilst it is cold at night, they make sure you have enough blankets and it is SO worth it for the star-gazing and experience. We also did a great walk and had time to relax with the breath-taking views. Can't recommend this place enough.

The most amazing 2 nights in this special place

The place is incrediable, the heritage there gives you a feeling of time travelling. The view is breath taking.  Also, Mohamed and his team honours the Omani hospitality making the stay even more enjoyable. In addition the food was amazing wich gives you another impression of the Omani cousine.

We visited The Cliff Guest House for a pre-arranged lunch. The location is incredible with such a lovely walk to get there from where we had to leave the car. One of the most tranquil places I have been to, the bathrooms were impeccably clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious.

Lunch at The Cliff Guest House

We booked with Agoda one night at the cliff guest house. The arrival was uncomplicated, we drove our 4WD to the parking lot and then walked the 10-15 minutes to the village. The room was nicely decorated the beds were comfortable but for the time of the year and the altitude way too cold - we needed to ask for extra blankets, which were delivered quickly. Dinner was nice but unfortunately it is prepared in the kitchen and then brought to the open area and gets cold immediately, without really a chance of warming it up again. The same goes for breakfast, which was already served cold. From the hosts we were hoping for some kind proactive of tour of the village or cultural/historical feedback, which didn't happen. All in all, it was more a not-so-comfortable accommodation. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and we did a nice and well-marked trail close to the village. For the conditions offered we consider it overpriced.

Weird

The Cliff Guesthouse is definitely one of the a kind accommodation, tugged away in a very quiet part of Jabal Akhdar. We booked our room directly with Mohammed via WhatsApp. The booking process was easy and quick. On the check-in date, we drove to the parking lot where Mohammed's cousin Hilal met with us and took us on a little trek to the guesthouse. The trek was very nice, our 7-year-old son had no problem trekking to the place. We stayed in a deluxe room which has a private bathroom, its own balcony and sitting area. The bedroom, bathroom, and the balcony area are well decorated and clean.  Very quiet and relaxing.

Special thanks to Hilal for taking care of us and took us on a cultural hike, showing us farms and the villages.

One of a kind experience

Family trip getaway from Muscat... went with 11yr and 12yr kids, amazing places from parking lot to village, took 10mins hike.. was quite good, happy that kids were enjoying the trip. 
They greeted us with Omani coffee and dates. Dinner was amazing, we had fish, meat, kabsah rice and Omani bread.. turned kids loves the food. I was bit under estimate for it's food quality, but turned out we love it so much. So unfortunate, we were asking for more, but no stock available. Luckily we bring extra food. 
Next day, Hilal took us to Hidden lake... 40mins walk, its like hidden gems behind the hills... another amazing views. Since water too cold, we were chatting and enjoying Omani coffee, he prepare for us right away with his portable stove. 
This is such an amazing family experience of having Omani hospitality

Amazing Views

A beautiful guest house, hidden within the mountain range of Jabal Akhdar(Green Mountain) above Nizwa.
It's an easy trek, after you park your 4WD. if you have luggage, you can ask the young kids to help you carry it  downhill and across to the guest house.
It's simple but quiet and peaceful. Basic breakfast lunch and dinner is offered.
in the day you trek the mountain, by night enjoy the peace and serene mountain air. Simply divine
