Excellent experience!

All hotels are dependent on their staff and this hotel is no different. True, the setting is idyllic,  and the history of the radio fascinating but the real jewel in its crown is this hotel’s staff. 

Dianna in the restaurant and Elisabeth on reception have both been helpful, friendly and professional in all their interactions with me. Both of them are a great asset to their employer. As a result, I’m thoroughly enjoying my stay here.

Excellent hotel!

2-day meeting with overnight stay and meals. Lunch and dinner of top quality and very friendly staff. Hospitality seems to be high on the agenda. The rooms are very spartan. Surroundings could not have been better. Recommend a nice morning walk or run with views of horses and fjord.

Above expectations

Jeløy radio is beautifully situated by the Oslo fjord, with great opportunities for trekking or running during your stay. The building is fantastic; a great example of nordic functionalist architecture, excellently refurbrished giving respect to its origins while still matching modern standards. The building itself makes this place worth a visit.

I have been at Jeløy radio several times, both attending and hosting business seminars and workshops. The locale works great for such purposes, with bright meeting rooms of different sizes and the neccesary equipment available.

The staff are friendly and serviceminded, although in some areas they have a way to go to make the guests satisfied. Sometimes they seem a bit lost regarding how to run a hotel.

Where this place really struggles to live up to the beautiful scenery and the stylish building is the food they serve. Tastes are blend, presentation is boring and the menu lacks originality and fails to make the guest interessted. 

When spending a few days with colleagues or business partners in a place like this, the food is an important part of the whole experience, at least in my view. Therefore I give Jeløy radio 3/5, due to the consistent mediocre quality of the food.

Incredible building, the rest is average

Small but cosy hotel close to the sea at Jeløya just outside Moss, one hour south of Oslo, vert good restaurant and conference room in the main building, and guest rooms in the renovated barn. Just by the fjord, you can stroll along the cost line minutes away from the hotel.

Cosy at the old radio station

This is a fantastic little hotel and establishment. Great interior, great food and great staff. We went there on a businiess lunch to view the place together with some of our costumers and all I wanted to do was to book the whole place for a big friends-of-friends get-together on a hot summer evening. We had a great chicken salad for lunch.

A hidden get-away not far from Oslo

I was at Jeløya for a two days conference and enjoyed my stay. My room was small and only had the absolute necessary equipment, but is was clean and I got a good nights sleep. The best part of this place is the location, with the sea and the old forests. The architecture of the main building is beautiful art nouveau. But why does the bar look like a left over from the nineties?

Great location

Second time after 8 years, it is still good. It's such a peaceful place with wonderful scenery - the food served is also excellent. Would love to come back here for a holiday next time. Totally recommending this if anyone on holiday in Oslo wants a quiet weekend away from the city. 

Love this place 

The Jeloy Radio Hotel is about 1+ hour plus drive from the city. Around 2 if you take the more scenic route instead of the highway (we did by accident). Do try to avoid leaving after 4pm from the city as everyone living outside of the city all pile onto the same highway.
The hotel itself is quaint and very peaceful. The rooms are clean and, lets just say, functional (basic - not even a cupboard there there is somewhere to hang your clothes.
I was there end June when the sun set at 10.30pm and came up around 5am - some balckout curtains in the room would have been great  :o)
There is much in terms of facilities but a walk or run around the water's edge is fantastic.
Dinner was great and they had a good selection of wine and spirits.
The property is owned by Telenor and I reckon they use it quite a bit for management getaways but it's definitely not over-crowded.
Great is one had the time and just wanted a couple of days of peace and quiet.

For a quiet getaway close to Oslo

This nice conference design-hotel is renovated from a previous radiostation, and some parts are still in use. The fascilities are excellent for board meetings and the food is very good. I have used this hotel several times and the service is always good. Recommended!
