This Hotel in old historical building and it managed by same family for many generations. Building is really beautiful, there is restaurant and lobby/sitting area and also a library.

Breakfast was good, but nothing to special, gluten free selection was quite narrow.

Rooms are quite small, and interior old, no air conditioning or even ventilation in a room except shower had exhaust fan, which was on only when you leave also the lights on. But i guess it comes with old buildings.

Location is superb, in the center of everything in this small town, reasonable free parking spaces and helpful staff. But in my mind the price was quite high in return of quality of the accommodation.

Summer in LOM

We don't know how is really the hotel but in our travel guide it wassaid that this building have some nice old furnitures and pilars.
As we came in, we have a warm wellcome, and free to walk throuhh the property to see what we want..;
So a 5 points to this fiendly and smiling wellcome

Splendid hotel, excellent service. Fantastic local food, cozy surrondings. If you stay here you must also visit the local bakery, and enjoy one of the many hiking trails. Good for skiing as well, and the locals are very friendly.

Great hotel

Dinner was good, but breakfast felt a little "stingy". When one's on a holiday, one expects a wider selection of cold meats, beverages, breads, etc. For the price of 1800++ kr per night, I couldn't see a hair dryer. Good thing I had brought mine. In my experience traveling all over Norway, I find independent and family-owned hotels to have inconsistent and varying level of service or comfort  (food, hair dryer, interior, toiletries)..

Historic; friendly staff; good location BUT needs a little extra

We spent 3 nights in a room in the America building (a quiet annexe, very near the main building). We really enjoyed the atmosphere in the hotel: the staff were welcoming, the food excellent, and a nice balance between the formality of an historic hotel and an informal atmosphere which made us relax. An excellent starting point for trips in and around Lom, which had so much to offer.

Excellent hotel and food

We booked this hotel because of it's situation & a Norwegian Traditional solution.
We upgraded to a Superior double room, including a 3 course evening meal.
The hotel, even though on the main road to Oslo, is very quite and has a perfect staff solution.

Great example of a Norwegian Tradition hotel

Have an fantastic 5 cors dinner Wednesday evening, whit excellent wines.... Excellent service and food !  Ham, fish, soup, reindeer, chocolate , is cream !

Exellent food

My daughter and I stayed one night Atle this historic hotel. This means that it’s not a modern style hotel, and you will hear your neighbours in the hotel. But the interior is local, authentic and fantastic.We were lucky to get a room with a view downtown for NOK 1650 pr night. The highlight is the food served in the restaurant. We ha a three course meal with goat as main, tasted marvellous! Fish soup as starter was a bit anonymous in taste, but the Kraftkar cheese (world best cheese in 2016) was a highlight as well. Do also try the Cranberry cocktail in the bar after. Breakfast was ordinary, perhaps due to Corona times. So all in all a pleasant stay - but don’t loose your momentum in the kitchen.

Historic hotel

Friends and family, 12 persons, stayed at Fossheim for one night, had a 4 course dinner and wine selected for the food. The waitress was excellent, complete controll of 12 people with allergies and differentt preferences.  Great food.  Highly recomended.

Excellent service and great food

A nice restaurant at Lom where we stopped for lunch. Authentic Norwagian restaurant with nice wooden interior deco. Very cozy and good ambience with scenic and picturesque surrounding villages and a far end Stave Church. Lunch with excellent Mushroom Soup as starter. Fabulous Grilled Chicken Breast with Mushroom Sauce. The Berry Dessert was superb with nice black coffee. Great local cuisine.
