Hakkesetstolen Fjellstugu

Thank you to Torill and her team for helping to make this a memorable week. Their friendly, good-nature made everything very comfortable and added a little extra. We stayed in the "Vidda" cabin where everything was clean and convenient. The seats outside afforded great views and we had direct access to the wonderful experience of nature on the doorstep. The official trails, both for walking and skiing, are right outside and lead straight onto the beautiful and expansive Hardangervidda plateau, or you could choose to walk to the top of the ski/cycle/walking slopes down to Geilo (or relax in the ski-lift down to the town). An ideal location for anyone who enjoys good views, with easy access to nature and adventure. We stayed for a week at the end of August and although a little out of season in Norway it was still ideal for many hikers, runners, fishers as well as those just out to experience the scenery. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Torill also introduced us to the pet rabbit and chickens which they kept, and allowed our children to offer them food each morning and collect the freshly-lain eggs - big smiles!
