A beautiful stay in a secret garden in the beautiful town of Tairua. Just the restful retreat I needed. Very close to all the bars and shops. Perfect stay and lovely helpful host, who was quick to reply.  Also cute fluffy dogs for a morning cuddle to top it off :)

Wow, wow, wow, what an amazing place this is to stay. Donna and Chris were the perfect host, actually felt like staying with very good friends. The Roman is idyllic, the surroundings are beautiful, we would love to return on our next visit to NZ

This was a wonderful place to stay.  Donna and Chris were very hospitable, the rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable and the views fantastic.  The breakfast was delicious and it was great to have my gluten free needs catered for.  It is also a great location for visiting the treasures of the Coromandel and near to town for restaurants.

Amazing accomidation stunning views and beautiful room with a large super king bed with lovely cotton sheets. The bathroom is luxurious with large slipper bath and an awesome rain shower. Donna and Chris are so welcoming and making you feel special. This is the 3rd time we've stayed here and every time we don't want to leave.

Absolutely loved our stay, everything done was personalised, great hostesses with good banter, amazing place and views, friendly dog and so hospitable. Would definitely recommend to anyone want a chill time away wiry incredible hosts.

We spent four nights with Donna Chris and Rover, lovely comfortable room very private with a shared lounge (only with one other room). Coffee, tea etc available. Donna's breakfasts set you up for the day. Very helpful with planning where to go and where to eat. We definitely relaxed for our last few days in NZ. We would go back tomorrow (but it is a long way unfortunately)  Thank you both for a lovely stay.

This is an amazing retreat for those seeking tranquility, privacy, and beautiful views. Donna (the host and owner) was fabulous to work with and very communicative from the original booking through the day before our arrival. She greeted us with a welcoming smile, a glass of water, and a warm washcloth which was a nice treat after a long journey along scenic, Highway 25 on a chilly day. After a quick tour of our place & the amenities, we jumped in the cedar hot tub for a nice soak… a wonderful end to a long day but also a fabulous start to our stay. My husband and I are visiting New Zealand for the first time from our home on Maui and we highly recommend this fantastic retreat in Tairua. Not sure you can do any better! 

The rooms and facilities are the best the views are unbelievable, and Donna and Chris such wonderful hosts. We will be back.
We would recommend this to anybody, even if you are wanting to chill for a few days on the balcony and enjoy the views.

Sunlover Retreat is a beautifully designed and decorated bed & breakfast that provides privacy, convenience and great hill top views. On our first evening, we were provided a chef prepared meal on site which was absolutely delicious. Our breakfast every morning was excellent as we had the opportunity to chat  with our hosts, Donna and Chris, who were friendly, interesting and a wealth or information about the area. We highly recommend this first class experience. If we return to this lovely town of Tairua, we will definitely stay here again.  

Easy booking and communication.  Gorgeous room with amazing views - everything felt very luxurious.  Tea, coffee, juice, fruit provided.  Plus an absolutely delicious breakfast.  Hot tub was great - especially as the weather was not the best on our visit. Loved the animals and wildlife. A short walk in to town - had a very enjoyable meal at Manaia Restaurant. Donna is a fabulous host, so friendly and helpful, and has considered everything you could possibly need.  Would love to stay again!
