Bettina and Neville made us feel very welcome in their conveniently located home. A short 10 minute drive from the city, our room was comfortable and private, and had WiFi included at no extra cost. The view was spectacular, particularly in the fantastic weather we had at the time. Our hosts were very friendly, and we enjoyed talking over breakfast and a drink together on some afternoons. Thanks to our hosts we had a memorable time in Wellington, and we would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

Beautiful view, friendly hosts

We stayed only one night with Bettina and Nev but it was splendid! Room was really nice and clean and shared bathroom was roomy. Bettina asked right away if we want bottle of beer or glass of wine. We had together bottle beer and had really nice conversation! They gave us also lot of good tips restaurants and surroundings. I would happy to stay there again!

Great view and great host!

We decided on short notice to stay in Wellington for a couple days, and we were pleasantly surprised to find availability at A Great View. We booked directly by phone with Bettina; no problems whatsoever. The house is a bit out of the way; our online map got us there, though. (The guest who arrived during our stay said he got thoroughly lost, however!) AGV is 15-20 minutes from Central Wellington, so if this is an issue you may want to look elsewhere.

The house was very clean and recently updated; our room (with the view) was a bit small but quite comfortable. Note that the bathroom is shared with the other guest room; we had it to ourselves the first night but not the second. This wasn't a problem, but be advised if en suite is important to you.

The weather did not cooperate during our stay - it was cold and windy and we could avail ourselves of neither the deck nor the view.

What made our stay truly special was the hospitality of our hosts, Bettina and Neville. We were greeted like old friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the times spent in conversation with them. They seem to truly delight in hosting guests, and it shows in their interactions and helpfulness. It's meeting people like them that we enjoy most about staying in B&Bs, and our time with Bettina and Neville is one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We absolutely recommend AGV!

(And as others have mentioned  - yes, try Neville's "Adventurous Eggs"!)

A Great View - and more!

Staying at this B&B is for me like staying with good old friends. I've been at A GREAT VIEW for several times and always enjoyed the time with Neville and Bettina tremendously. The rooms and bathroom facilities were updated 2 years ago, they are nicely decorated and from high standard. Bettina is serving a yummy breakfast with lots of varieties and Nev is cooking a fantastic 4 course fish dinner by arrangement. Last time I took my wife with me, we have had great conversations and lots of fun with our lovely hosts.She was extremely impressed of the spectacular views we have had from our room. I highly recommend this B&B to everyone for a great stay in Wellington/

Great stay at A GREAT VIEW

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at A Great View, especially meeting the charming hosts, Bettina and Neville. They made us feel at home right away, and we enjoyed several lively conversations and glasses of wine with them. Their home is tastefully furnished and comfortable, and we were treated to a magnificent panoramic view from our upstairs bedroom windows. We were running low on clean clothes, and Bettina even graciously agreed to do our laundry! Breakfast was delicious, and we especially enjoyed Neville's surprise scrambled eggs, which definitely had some curry spice in them. The B&B is about 15 minutes from busy Welllington, and we didn't mind commuting back and forth. There is a small nearby town, Johnsonville, which offered some shopping and restaurant options if you didn't want to drive all the way to Wellington. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay with Bettina and Neville, and highly recommend A Great View!
