I travel the far reaches of the world for my work and I must say that Chhahari Retreat was a completely unexpected surprise for me! Everything from the lodging, the comfortable beds, the amazing staff, the clean drinking water, the peace and tranquility, the open space, the organic gardens, fresh avocados, I just can't express how impressed and delighted I have been by my visit. This was a return visit for me and it is rare that I return to the same place. It was safe, clean, friendly and I highly recommend it to anyone wishing for a relaxing retreat, an excellent meeting place or just an escape from the hectic pace of inner-city Kathmandu.

Chhahari Retreat is an amazing experience, I am returning!

This is truly a one-of-a-kind retreat from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Everything from the caring and friendly staff, the wildlife, the gardens, the views of the Kathmandu Valley, the hot showers, Wifi, the incredible food to the enriching conversation with everyone. Rarely do I say that "you won't regret" something, but in this case you definitely won't regret the entire experience at Chhahari. Also... Don't forget to take advantage of the fact that there is wonderful hiking adjacent to Chhahari in the Shivpuri Nagarjun National Park!

Unbelievable Retreat overlooking Kathmandu

Such a beautiful family owned retreat sitting in the hills overlooking the community. The rooms are beautiful, clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff are sweet and kind souls that provide delicious food and beverages at every meal. Take a walk around the grounds and discover new views, fruit trees and watch a beautiful sunrise.

A beautiful and peaceful home away from home

Chhahari is a family owned and operated where they truly make you feel at home. Every detail of my 8 day stay was amazing! The staff is so caring and treats you just like family, and always available to help with any and all requests. The food was 5 star, every single meal so beautifully presented and delicious. And if you like coffee, they grow their own coffee beans and I left with 2 bags to take home, wishing I purchased even more! When you need some quiet time there is a quaint enclosed reading room to enjoy time for you or a beautiful sunrise. And if you need place to practice on your yoga mat or meditate, there is a beautiful space at the top of the lodge where you can light incense and plenty of meditation cushions to get centered. 

Overall, I highly recommend Chhahari for you next Nepal stay/adventures, you will surely be well taken care of! Thank you to everyone at Chhahari for the memorably stay, I miss you and Nepal and everything Chhahari so much!

Mountain Kingdom Journey retreat

What a special place! This family-owned retreat sits on a beautiful hill overlooking Kathmandu valley. We had the best experience during our stay in Nepal and I highly recommend Chhahari as your home away from home in Nepal. You'll be off-the-beaten path but still close enough to visit all the temples, shopping, and other sites in Kathmandu. The rooms are clean and quiet, views are beautiful, the food (and coffee!) are some of the best we had in Nepal, and the staff is so warm and welcoming. I especially loved the open-air terrace to enjoy meals or sip on tea. Plus, they are fully eco-conscious, including solar-powered.

Beautiful retreat close to Kathmandu Nepal

Such an amazing place. I came here looking for peace and quiet, and found it. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic rooms and great food. The staff is super service minded and will help you with everything you need. Allow your self a stay at this magnificent place. . cause we could all use a little peace and tranquillity sometimes 😊

A little peace of heaven

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The service mindfulness of the family owned hotel's staff is truly heartwarming. The homemade food is delicious and the rooms/cottages are nice and clean. The view over the Katmandu valley is beautiful - a great place to escape from the noise of the city.

Outstanding service

We spent 2 nights here at the start of an REI trek to Annapurna Sanctuary.  We could not have been more impressed by the lovely hospitality, wonderful food, and beautiful  gardens and outdoor spaces.  Even though it rained our first evening, we were served dinner outside on the covered terrace overlooking the lights of Kathmandu below us. It was magical.  The family that runs the retreat are gracious and accomodating and made us feel at home.  Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant as a getaway from crazy Kathmandu!!
  

Tranquil Setting with Amazing Cuisine and Service

I was visiting my son at the nearby ISKON temple and found Chhahari to be a great option for a place of peace and quiet with great views and much more nature than in town. The rooms were nice and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. I would definately recommend it to others.

Great Place to Stay Out of City Bustle

Chhahari Lodge is located far above the city of Kathmandu, away from the noise and traffic. It provides a quiet location near one of Nepal's national parks. The rooms are simple, but clean, safe, and quiet. The shower had ample hot water and the small balconies provide great views of the Kathmandu Valley. There is always coffee and tea available in the lodge, the breakfasts served are bountiful with all manner of fruits, grains and cooked options. The friendly staff stand ready to assist the traveler. While not all of the staff speak English, there is always someone there who can help out. 
Be aware that while it is not impossible to walk into town, from a practical point of view if would be difficult and a tuk-tuk or cab would not be able to get all the way up the hill. For much of the time a 4x4 is required for transportation to their gate, or transportation should be arranged through the Lodge. Please note, it is a hill side location, and not very well suited to people with disabilities as there are several flights of stairs to negotiate between the main lodge and the room complexes.
