I can confirm the good ratings of the "before Covid time". I have lived here regularly for 10 years. But unfortunately the house has changed very negatively. Good staff, bad leadership. Now, in September 2021, there were groups of local people there who were very fond of alcohol. In contrast to previous years, the owner has not been seen. Final impression on departure: My flight was late in the evening. Since the house was not very busy, the staff told me that I could use the room until I left. I found it very friendly. When I left my room, the owner let me know that I would have to pay an extra day for these few hours. Not necessarily the fine, customer-friendly kind. I won't be staying there again.

Very negative change, I will not stay here again

We only stayed 3 days in this wonderful place but for sure we will be back.
The guest house is located in the main busy road, but once you come in it's like you  have entered in a different world, you hardly can hear the noise from the city. The gardens, the terrace, how wonderful!!! 10 mins walk from Buddha Stupa, which is awesome.
Quite and clean rooms with comfortable bed. Clean toilet. Upstairs, there is a wonderful terrace from which you can enojy the beautiful views over the carefully worked garden.
Delicious breakfast and dinner.
But the best of all is the staff, inparticulary Suman, he really made our stay a 5 star experience. He managed the pick up and drop off to the airport, gave us tips and recommendations, and was naturally friendly always and very professional.
We will be back to Nepal, and for sure, will visit this wonderful place again.

Peaceful and clean place in Katmandu

I LOVE this guesthouse. One of the FIRST guest houses in Boudha still owned and run by the same family. So friendly and welcoming. The rooms are big and bright. Nice showers. And delicious western breakfast served on the porch overlooking their serene garden. Just minutes from the stupa on the main road. Absolutely prefect. Don’t miss going up to the roof for a million dollar view of the stupa, and if you’re lucky, the himaals!

Perfect Guest House- lovely courtyard

I came with 11 others and stayed for 5 nights and then came back for our last 3 nights. It’s very busy outside the guest house walls and at times the noise can be heard. The staff made this stay easy, in particular Suman he was amazing, forever at our beck and call - organising taxis, SIM cards, tailor, etc. We had a delicious breakfast daily and we had dinner many times, it was always fresh and so much better than eating out. 

Lovely place to stay

I stayed 3 weeks in Maya Guest House and enjoyed every day. It's easy to reach many interessting locations in Kathmandu valley from that place. One of the nicest places is just in walking distance - the stupa of Boudha.
Staff of the Guest House is kind and helpful. One can ask them for every problem and will get easy and good assistance. May it helping for a taxi or find a place nearby. We asked if they knew a tailor and were brought to a good one!
Room was clean and nice with a big and modern bathroom. Beds are really comfortabel. Breakfast was simpel but good. And one can preorder a very delicious dinner. 
I like the beautiful little garden. Kathmandu is a load city. In Maya Guest House one can find peace. I will definatly stay here again when I come back to Kathmandu!

Everything perfect

I stayed here for more than a week to attend some teachings in Boudha.  The rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet and very relaxing.  The location was very convenient to the Boudha Stupa and to central Kathmandu.   Within the garden and hotel, it was impossible to sense you were on a very busy street.  It was a quiet beautiful garden.
The staff were always so helpful with information and the included breakfast was incredible.  I will stay here always, when I am in Kathmandu.

wonderful stay

 I stayed here for a few nights. Clean, safe, quiet with very welcoming host. Can walk to big Bhudda and shopping area. Nice breakfast served outside in lovely garden patio area. Can not say enough about how helpful my host was with directions, taxi service and anything else I needed.
