Welcoming Rest Environment green and silentI recommend to go there for two or three days

We stayed at Hotel Zagour for one night, after a scorching hot early September day in the desert. It was an unexpected stay, since we were meant to spend the night at Erg Chigagga but a sandstorm spoilt our plans. So, upon arriving back in Zagora, early evening, a local offered himself (as usual in Morocco) to find us a good accomodation deal and took us to this place after our refusal to stay in another one we did not like at all. The price was really good for what they offered: a big room, a relaxing atmosphere with several terraces and a nice swimming pool where we could get rid of all the heat and the desert dust.

The breakfast was a standard one, served in a nice outdoor terrace, and the staff were very kind even though we did not spend much time there.

Downsides? The bathroom in our bedroom was pretty old, though fairly clean, and the A/C was somewhat weak (which is actualy good from an ecological standpoint...  if you want to be cool, you'd better not go to the desert in summer!). It is a little bit apart from the town centre, but the location is nice and there is a little grocery store right beside the entrance.

Although slightly out of town, there's a very enjoyable terrace overlooking Zagora and the sunset if you're lucky enough to catch it.
There's also a small pool which seemed reasonably clean for those hot days.
The beds were comfy and cleanliness was generally good.

A pleasant stay

We stayed here for one night in between travel days. We stayed in the suite, which was a very big room with two double beds. 

Before i begin: there is no in-room wifi, but there is wifi in the public spaces. We didn't use the public wifi since we did not need it. This was honestly not a problem for us, but i wanted to mention this for those who can't live without wifi in the room. :P

Room: The suite is cosy and spacious. The beds and couch are comfy. The bathroom is bigger than some other hotels we have been to. I saw some reviews here about the water pressure. Looking back we did indeed have a lower water pressure, but not that bad that we could not shower. The hot water did work with us.

Service: the staff is very friendly. You can let them know if anything is bad with the room. The dinner and breakfast was included with our stay and i must say, the vegetable tajine we had was one of the best i had in a long time in Morocco.

Prices: the prices are low for our standards, especially with breakfast and dinner included. It is not a classy chic hotel, but that is not always necessary. The service and restaurant is good.

Overall: as said in the titel, it is a good hotel for on the road and i recommend having dinner and breakfast at the restaurant as well.

Decent hotel, absolutely nothing wrong with it. Rooms are large and clean, staff is very friendly and its well located; close to town but hardly any of the noise. The restaurant however is a little lacking. Service is a bit slow and the breakfast buffet is very basic

Descent

My friend and I had no reservation.  We walked in after a long day of driving and inquired about rooms. It is a low tourist season so the hotel had plenty of rooms.  We looked at a few, but insisted that we needed one that offered a properly working shower so that we didn't have to hold the shower head and try to wash our hair with one hand.  The only room available that seemed to have this was a suite.  We negotiated a good rate and checked in.  We then went to dinner and came back at a relatively late hour to find out that the heat was not working in the room.  The toilet was running non-stop.  The water pressure for the working shower head was so low that there was no point in trying to take a shower after all.  And the bathroom wall had a huge hole in it that created a draft of cold air and the bathroom door had a huge opening at the bottom of it that allowed the draft of cold air into our room.  There was no way to fix all of it and we certainly didn't want to spend the time trying to fix it all so late in the evening.  The one attendant left at the hotel managed to fix the heat and we called it a night.  The next morning, our room price included breakfast but when we got there, they were out of half the food that we requested and had to go get it at a neighboring shop.  I think we might have been the only ones in the hotel.  So, beware.  The suite looked lovely from the outside, but almost none of it functioned properly once we tried to settle in.  Surely, there were better options.
