Camp was gorgeous!

Private tent with king size bed, toilet and shower. The temperature didn't drop over night so it is hot still, and the ride to and from the camp is about 1.5 hours 

We were told the turbans were necessary, they aren't particularly there were people who didn't bother.

Brilliant over night camp - try stargazing at 1 am! Can see many constellations. 

Erg Chebbi Camp

Azawad Luxury Camp was a solid choice for our group in December. We arrived from Dades Gorge to Azawad's hotel in Merzouga. We took an hour long camel ride to the Azawad luxury camp in the desert. It is surprisingly very nice accomodations with hot water, electricity, and other amenities considering you are in the Sahara desert. Room 12, a triple room, is the closest to the hot water tank. Stay here and you will have plenty of hot water. Lower the numbers, 1/2/3, and you might not be lucky with hot water. Our group stayed here in December and it was around 40 degree Fahrenheit at night. Needless to say it was cold! Our tour guide had arranged for heaters for all our rooms. But staff wanted 600 Moroccan dirhams to put the heater in each room! After our guide called the camp, all our rooms received heaters which were sufficient to keep our rooms warmer at night. Beds were comfy and comforters were heavy duty. Bathroom was clean. There is just a cloth curtain between room and bathroom. Tent floor was mostly carpeted which was good. Dinner was really good. We had asked for extra grilled items in advance which the staff had it prepared. Entertainment at night was decent. Staff provided a couple of sand boards, free of charge, and kids in our group enjoyed them thoroughly.  

Awesome camp in the middle of Sahara Desert 

The tents were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a shower and toilet in the tent.  The staff were friendly and professional.  The food delicious.  Sitting outside in the evening around a fire and listening to drums was delightful.  The highlight was riding the camels to this destination.  The camel ride was surprisingly comfortable.

Camel ride and luxury tents in the desert, a must in Morocco!

We loved the whole experience! We enjoyed the camel ride and the quad bikes in the desert from the hotel to the luxury camp.
The camp was indeed luxurious, we were warmly welcome with amazing service and food. All the meals were very abundant, we were served big portions of tasty food (tajines, salads,...) and after dinner, the staff offered a great show of music around the campfire. The rooms were very comfortable, well lit with really hot water!
Definitely worth it!

Perfect experience exceeding all our expectations!

We arrived a bit before sunset and enjoyed the one-hour dromedary (camel) ride from the hotel to our luxury camp. The camel ride was much more comfortable than I expected and we greatly enjoyed the scenery, the light, and the setting sun. I didn't know what to expect, wondering if the various desert camps are actually a bit on top of each other and was very pleased to see that they are not. Upgrading to a luxury tent was a good idea and taking a hot shower in our tent at the end of a long day felt great. (The next morning it was cold outside and I was glad I had already showered). We enjoyed a lovely dinner inside the tent, sat side by side on the swing outside our tent, drummed and danced around the fire with ten other fun people, and slept very comfortably in the luxurious tents. Woke up in time for the sunrise and a good breakfast. A very special experience, thank you! (Incidentally, this hotel at the base of the excursion looks very nice too.)

Excellent experience

We loved the whole experience of "glamping" at the Azawad Luxury Desert Camp, including the 1+ hour camel rides to and then back from the camp during sunset and just after sunrise. We'd recommend two nites at the camp, as it would be great to hang out during the day and enjoy the desert environment while relaxing. We had one of the two super-sized tents, which in addition to the bathroom also had a sitting area, and - importantly for this time in late December - a large (but very bright) space heater. It got down into the low 30's F/1-3 C in the night and morning and having the space heater was a must. The only minor criticism that I have is that the main course for dinner was a rather uninspiring chicken tajine (what else!) but there were more interesting appetizers. Our tent had a USB port for charging phones, etc. and there were electircal charging in the main tent, and WiFi.

Highlight of our Morocco Vacation

I had been to Sahara Desert many times and I have a chance to stay in several desert camp. Every one is claiming that they are a luxury camp and I agreed with them because all the tent camp in the desert is almost the same format and decoration. But the only thing that make them different from one to another is all about the location. In my book, the best location for the desert camp is that the camp must be surrounded with the sand dune. So you can climb up to the top and have a nice view over the camp. It is also make your life a lot easier when you want to shoot a sun rise or sun set. Azawad Luxury Desert Camp have it all. The location is excellent , the service is just great with a very friendly staff. There is a WiFi for you at the camp. If you need some adventure , just ask the staff to find you some exciting activities other than raiding a camels such as a sand boarding or ATV ride. Check out this place if you need something special for your holiday.

Best place in a desert

Our experience with CIVITATIS was really wonderful, our driver Hassan was fantastic.
Then in desert with camels and tent campaments was really a good experience for us. Tent  very nice , clean and confortable. 
All the local people of camp was very kind with us.

N1 Saharan Luxury Desert camp inside the dunes

Camp and Camel Trek was super premium experience. Tents with personal toilet/shower, comfortable beds, linens, and local Berber team—WOW.  Tasty dinner, too. Those boys made it happen—from the camel wrangling, to the cooking, singing and entertaining after dinner-- will never forget it.
