The stay was awful for many reasons.The neighborhood is very sketchy.had trouble les with air conditioner ratting and had to deal with it all night no sleep then got locked out of the room and even the master key wouldn’t work, lucky there was a person up sharing the room who let me in.They changed the battery in the key lock and that worked but we had to stay in the room until they came. Waste of time. They didn’t fix the air conditioner rattling that kept me up all night. So we had the stay booked for 5 nights and changed hotels after only one night there. They did not refund any difference. The air conditioner only works when you are in the room because of a sensor at the door that detects when you open it and shuts the air conditioner off so when you leave for the day and return it’s way too hot inside. The roof pool can not be classed as a pool it is a warm dipping pool. The views are cute if you can get around the ruins of other buildings and garage around them. The next door hotel has a way better pool and you overlook their pool which is deflating. The balcony in our room was in a joined courtyard of the other hotel and is not private. The closet has a weird blue light that stays on all night shining through. You do have to walk to a beach that has many people using it and they have bbqs and free for all feel to things. No they don’t have beach chairs etc at the beach. You do have a walk uphill coming back with cobble. The neighborhood has many homeless, lots asking if you want weed, vap and cocaine. Did not feel safe and it was dirty. 
The room was clean though and nice kitchen and washer and dryer but we only stayed one night thankfully. We switched to a resort and felt much safer and had direct access to beach without having to buy portable chairs and towels and didn’t have to lug them ourselves to beach and up the hill. Being in the neighborhood did give a surprise look at the real town but it’s not what you want. It’s dirty, sketchy, and not a good place to walk around. We definitely did not go out at night. If you want peace of mind and sleep at night hard pass on this place. I tried to add the video of the rattling air conditioner but wouldn’t let me.

Rethink this stay

We stayed a week at V Azuk Vallarta from April 6-13, 2023. The initial reason we decided to book our stay at this hotel was based on the many positive reviews. Our stay at V Azul Vallarta was EXCELLENT! We had a clean and wonderful (semi-private) room with a partial view of the beach. I will explain the details as to why we gave this hotel such a high rating. This hotel is a self-service. In the room, there is a binder with ALL the rules and policies. Please review it. Very helpful. 
The room has a fully equipped kitchen. The appliances, dishware and flatware set were all modern and very clean. The room has a washer and dryer, mop, broom and dust pan. The cleaning and room service, you do yourself. This is not to say that if you need extra towels, bathroom tissue or soap, they are not available. You must ask and the staff will provide. You will be charged extra if you want daily room service.  
You may be wondering, why would someone want to utilize the kitchen and cook while on vacation. Well, we both enjoy cooking and also doing so was very economical. Dining in Puerto Vellarta (romantic Zone) can be expensive based on where you decide to eat. Taking a short walk (15 – 20 minutes) allowed us to explore the local area and buy very fresh food to cook and eat. The local butcher shop and vegetable stands have everything you need to make wonderful dishes, if that is your thing. If so, bring a little of your own food seasoning.  Moreover, there are an abundance of restaurants and eateries everywhere! What I would recommend is to do a little of both. Keep in mind that if you break dishware (or anything), there is a charge. Having a washer and dryer was a great addition. First, we had clean clothing daily and second, we did not have to pack as much for a 7 day vacation. We did bring a little of our own detergent.  
You have to buy bottled water for drinking and cooking. There is a small market a short walk from the hotel. What we did is purchased a large 3-gallon water bottle, as needed, which cost about $3 USD. 
Keep in mind that the hotel is located on a semi steep hill. Comfortable sneakers/footwear and clothing are a must. 

Overall, We rate this hotel as Excellent. Great location, clean and very convenient to the beach, restaurants, stores, and everything. We got a room facing the front of the hotel with a semi beach view which was Wonderful. 

Excursions I would recommend
1.	The ATV and RZR Jorullo Bridge Experience in Puerto Vallarta
2.	Hidden Beach tour (at Punta De Mita) – This excursion is very far from the hotel (romantic zone). About a 1.5-hour UBER ride at the cost of about $40-$45USD one-way.  Coming back, we had no UBER. We decided to take the local bus back to Romantic Zone at the cost of about $4USD each which was a 2-hour bus ride. 

Excursions I would Avoid
1.	Puerto Vallarta Cruise and Candlelight Dinner Show – I rate this a 4/10 – Not worth the cost. Disorganized. The show is just OK. Be careful for the “TimeShare” scam at the port. It’s a total waste of time. 



V Azul Vallarta - Luxury Vacation Rental Review and Much More

Beware the money grab and do not prepay for a guest’s nightly stay $30 USD in your room. The management has a no reimbursement policy. 

The hotel website pictures of non ocean view rooms make you believe there is a view from the outdoor deck when in fact i was provided with one looking into a cement wall. 

Beware false advertising and money grab

I stayed at V Azul from November through the end of March, 2023. This is my 5th year staying there. My stay is ALWAYS an exceptional experience.  The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. The kitchens are well stocked and a washer and dryer is included in the room.  There are large wall-mounted TV's in the room with American stations (which is rare).  The bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows and clean linens.  I love the "small" charm of the place with only 12 rooms. The convenient location makes it accessible to grocery, coffee shops, restaurants, and entertainment.  The best of all is the staff! They always go over and beyond to help make your stay enjoyable.  They are delightful and eager to help you and always make you feel welcome.  There's no other place for me to stay and I plan on going back again next winter.

The best place in PV

The condo / apartment style rental is by far my preferred place to stay when traveling. Our experience at V Azul was wonderful. The staff are very nice and helpful, our unit was clean and comfortable. It's location is about one block in from the beach about two blocks to the start of the boardwalk. There is also a small grocery store nearby.

Great choice

Easy walking distance to Zona Romantica District; only 1 block from beach. Adorable 1-bedroom condo; very clean with nice kitchen. Roof top view with small pool is spectacular.  Staff are very friendly and attentive; no daily room service, but that’s what we prefer. Building built in 2017.

Excellent location

The apartment was located in the last floor but without natural light. Small  front window that did not allowed light and back windows were directly facing the terrace of next condominium.
At the end you are at full display of neighbors and without natural light inside your unit. We used electricity to light our space in Puerto Vallarta!
The pictures seen online are false.
Moreover, construction right in front of the building. That big project will take at least one year to be finished. Do not rent this place!

Dark apartment. No natural light and not privacy

we had a 4 week stay here.  Staff here is great and the rental condo was ideal. Location is just a short walk to the beach and also to the heart of Puerto Vallarta old Town and its restaurants and other attractions. Upper floors front units have a partial view of the bay and on the top floor there is a small pool and lounge chairs and a place for cooking a meal.
We met some other fun guests in this common area. 
We will be returning in 2023.

V Azul, nice rental accommodations in Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone 

I don't hand out 5-star reviews very often but this is one time it's well-deserved.  This property is very well-maintained, staffed by incredibly helpful people (Jesus and Alexia at the front desk were very helpful), and located just a set of stairs away from Dead Man's Beach.  It's also very proximate to all of Zona Romantica including its restaurants, clubs (most are LGBTQ-oriented), and small shops.

The rooftop pool area (photo shared) is smallish (you actually get a little envious of the neighboring property's pool) but the view of the bay and town is spectacular, particularly at sunset.  The rooftop barbeque and dining area looked fun but since we were visiting during the rainy season we didn't go that far.

With the exception of the sound of a couple of nearby clubs it's also very quiet.  Taxis aren't hard to find and I would recommend NOT renting a car as parking it might be difficult.  Taxis are so inexpensive (Less than $25 to the airport, less than $10 to most nearby destinations) and so much is within walking distance that your transportation expenses won't be high.

There's a couple of mini-marts within 1-2 blocks which also allow you to stock your full-sized refrigerator/freezer with plenty of staples (especially beverages).  There is a washer-dryer setup which means you don't have to pack an excess of clothing.  Our room's air conditioning worked very well which, given the humidity, was almost lifesaving.

All in all, you can't do much better than booking a stay at V Azul Vallarta!

Superb Property AND Staff

Gathering of old college friends/couples. Wonderful March visit. 60's to 80. Fabulous facility. Every room was huge, some with sitting rooms and all with great views of the ocean/bay. Pool overlooking the water. Very short walk down the street to the beach and restaurants. Dinner on the beach two nights, but the chef and food at Villa Tita was better than anything we found in town.  Staff wonderful. One of the nicest properties I have ever visited. And to think--they are shuttering for six months to upgrade. Cannot wait to get back and see what they did.
