This little hotel is owned by a great Person and it’s made with personal care and high standards! 
I want to visit it as soon as possible and spend hours in garden next to the river and feel the original Mexican atmosphere!

Amazing Place to stay

This lodge is right on the river in a lovely little and safe village. It has been recently redone, absolutely gorgeous rooms and views! Mama makes some very delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Very peaceful sleeping listening to the river and pleasant walks meeting all the neighborhood dogs. Excited to go back!

Wonderful!

Casa Rio Cuale is a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of downtown PV.  A beautiful property backing on the Rio Cuale, only 20 minutes from downtown by bus ( every 15 minutes at the front door).  Mario is the best host you could possibly ask for!  He is extremely helpful and goes beyond the expected.  He gave us rides to shopping and downtown on several occasions.  As well, his Aunt Marta makes delicious breakfasts and keeps the place tidy.  The sound of the river is very soothing at night!  This is a great option for those who don't need to "party" every night.

Beautiful peaceful location.

Do you love nature?  Want peace and quiet? Looking for a real Mexican environment not crowed with tourists? Willing to take bus 10 minutes to town or have a car?  Want an awesome deal?  This place is for you!  I felt so at home here I didn't want to leave after nine days.  My teenagers loved it too.  You can jump in river to cool off or enjoy a lovely home cooked breakfast if you wish to have that option.  Note breakfast is from 9 to noon!  It's not an early am place.  Very relaxed, so chill and have the authentic Mexican b&b experience of a lifetime.  It's the best kept secret in PV!  All you need to do is take bus 4 that says Paso Ancho on it from across from the church in the Centro.  It's at the end of the line.

Peaceful retreat next to rushing river!

Mario and Martha were wonderful! Restful river flowing, quiet street, very close to a protected sanctuary for birds. Saw many unusual birds in the morning. Martha made us an amazing breakfast. We stayed one night one our way through town. Mario upgraded us to a nicer apartment with en suite bathroom and kitchen for the same price. About 15 minute bus ride from main beach shopping and public dock. Buses leave every few minutes. from arrival we felt like family with the locals hanging out at the local arrabotes tienda. Quiet neighborhood with fruit trees. Hanging out by and wading in river was restful. Thanks Mario and Martha.

Lovely riverside friendly hotel

I stayed 2 weeks at the Paloma del Mar in a lovely neighborhood downtown,but I was looking for some place even more relaxed and perhaps in a natural setting.While researching online I came across Casa Rio Cuale,called them,and scheduled a visit.I took the bus from near my hotel all the way (around 30 minutes) for 7.50 pesos and met Mario,the owner at the door.He showed me around and gave me a choice of 2 deluxe double rooms on the ground floor overlooking the river,maybe 15 feet away.We arrived at a price for 8 nights and I agreed to return the next day.
I'm now enjoying my last full day here prior to departing tomorrow and the Casa Rio has been one of my favorite places to stay in my travels all over the world.Mario is a truly genuine and caring host and immediately makes you feel comfortable.His Aunt Marta lovingly prepared my breakfasts and dinners(special arrangement)and the food has been most delicious and more than plentiful.
I should point out that the room has a brand new king bed, (arrived my first day) ceiling fan,walk-in shower and a flat-screen tv with Netflix and YouTube.
Here at the Casa Rio Guesthouse you can do as little or as much as you feel like doing,but what's not negotiable is that you'll feel incredibly relaxed.The value for money is extraordinary and I would like to thank Mario and Aunt Marta for their very kind hospitality.

Wonderfully Tranquil

I drove up the river road one day to check out the location and met the manager, Mario, who was a super-nice guy who's been all over the world. He was very accommodating and provided whatver I needed. We negotiated a good rate for a two week stay. It was very memorable stay and I will probably be back, because of the peacefulness of Paso del Guayabo and Casa Rio Cuale. I rented a well appointed suite with a fulll bed, television, small kitchen and most importantly open windows to the running river. There is also a small store with a friendly clerk right next door -- whatever snacks you need, including cold Corona! Viva Casa Rio Cuale.
