Hotel Mucuy

The rooms are simple and very clean.  The rooms are away from the street.  There is an inner courtyard with nice grass my dog loved to play and roll around.The family is very nice.  When checking out I asked where I could get a cup of coffee.    She went inside and made me a fresh pot...  and is was GOOD.lWould stay again without hesitation.

Very Very Very Good people the resident owner Doña Ofelia is a Wealth of knowledge and is one of the Most interesting people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, The General Manager is Awsome guy too, I mixed up my check dates and He totally accommodated for the error on my part, will DEFINITELY be staying there next trip..

If you want a nice authentic Mexican stay in Merida....Hotel Mucuy is one of the BEST!
I must say this was my first time to Merida and I totally enjoyed the experience.  In large part because of Hotel Mucuy.  They are warm and friendly and pleasant.  We felt welcomed from we arrived and we felt like family when we left. It has a warm charm and it is inexpensive. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. It is clean and in a safe area and activities are right around you to explore.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Mucuy. It is undergoing needed renovations. Nonetheless, based upon my personal experience it is clean, convenient and safe.
The staff is exceptional.
The location is very convenient to numerous restaurants, museums, Merida English Library, Parque Santa Lucia Grand Parque and other shade tree lined city parks are within 6 minute walk.
AutoProgreso is a comfortable 10 minute walk if you want to visit progreso Beach.
Two city markets are within a 10 minute walk.

I liked the theme of the hotel.  It really allowed us the experience of staying in a colonial structure which identifies the city.  With the exception of parking issues, the hotel is a go!

Charming, picturesque pool, easy walk to the Zócalo which has some kind of entertainment every night. Do not miss that. If you want to stream anything on wifi you may have to do it in the lobby. Up stairs rooms possibly quieter as downstairs has table and chairs in front of some. Merida is great.

While in an excellent location the hotel lack the basic cleanlines inside the room and outside with dog droppings all over and owner feeding birds in front of my romm in the morning. Otherwise it is the most comfortable 3 star hotel i have ever been and very quiet at night being right down in the action downtown.

This hotel is a good value and perfectly acceptable to those who don't need a lot more than a bed and bathroom.  It's just old and kind of mid-century, with metal doors, and other old metal construction.  The mismatch between walls and bedspreads offended my taste in decor!  Coffee was available in the lobby, but not readily, and they charge for it, and it's in styrofoam cups.  The pool and courtyard area are pleasant.  Staff are not bi-lingual.

Best Budget Hotel value in Centro, Merida, Yucatán, Mexico!!!

Charming and close enough to Zócalo

Went there on last night before flight. It is a very basic hotel. It is quite small and it's arranged as a two-story complex. I got room 114, the furthest one to the entrance. Good value, great location and if you only need a place to crash after exploring the center of Mérida it is a nice option. I didn't have any insect visitors on my stay. The staff was attentive. Bed a little on the rough side but not an issue for me. No hot water for shower at 5 AM, but in Merida's summer it was not missed.
