db San Antonio Hotel & Spa - All Inclusive

Lovely hotel in a quiet area of buggiba . We arrived mid morning and from other reviews I knew we wouldn't be able to check into the room until 3 pm . Reception staff are extremely polite , friendly and helpful . We were able to leave our luggage and explore the hotel . We found the pool bar got a drink and noticed and upgraded area, so we enquired about the upgrade . Paid about 300 extra but turned out to be worth it . With the upgrade you have a bar and seating area for all inclusive plus only , where you can get branded spirits , bottles of wine and also food throughout the day . With all inclusive plus you get to use all the a la carte restaurants more often , some with an extra charge but at a reduced price from what I gathered . The Indian on the roof was very good , salia was also good , Tagine was ok but not as good as the others , we also tried the Asian /Chinese again on the roof which was also good . The main restaurant was good I did find the selection of food limited although tasty . The lifts are accessed by your room card , a little confusing at first but once you got the hang of it it was ok . On each floor there are water filling stations where you can get hot or cold water , there is a jug in the rooms so you can fill it and take it back to your room . The rooms are pleasant some could do with a bit of an upgrade and the air con isn't the best , we moved rooms from the 7th to the 9th , the 9th floor room was smaller especially the balcony but had a good view . The pool was a decent size , but did get busy , some areas towards the child pool is in shade early on and again around 3pm , if you move to the very furthest if the pool area overlooking the road , be advised that to get to the pool I would keep your footwear on as the plastic flooring gets very very hot , so too do the sunbeds which are black or have metal on them . Never got to try the roof top pool . They do have day passes for the locals so it does get busier . Entertainment was a bit disappointing to be honest we only saw the singer on the first night , he was very good but that was about as good as it got . Highly recommend the cafe on the reception level , lovely and cool and some great coffees , pie ,cakes , smoothies and cocktails . Overall a good week , very hot , would definitely go all inclusive plus .
