Very pleasant place.  Comfortable, clean and well equipped rooms.  Kind and considerate management.  Very good breakfast.  Highly recommended.  It's in a quiet suburban location so you'll need to use Uber or Bolt to get around but even so it's well worth it.

Very pleasant; kind management 

Disappointing. The private car park was an asset but our room was surprisingly basic, given the price. 
It overlooked a well used children's playground which was obviously noisy.
 We did say it was not what we expected on arrival and were offered the chance to look for an alternative but as it was late and we were way out in the suburbs, whilst disappointed, we thought it would be okay. 
But the noise level from the park was worse than we anticipated, teenagers talking well into the evenings.
Flimsy curtains meant we were woken up a daybreak  and, frustratingly,  there was only a small hot water boiler set to almost tepid temperature.  
On the plus side, staff were kind and there was generous free tea and coffee in the communal area but overall this felt like a Christian simple hostel for those attending religious conferences rather than a quiet peaceful retreat.  
Two nights was two nights too many, sadly.

My friends and I just stayed at this small but very homely retreat house for our annual weekend retreat—and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! Dalia and her team made us feel extremely welcome and looked after us really well. The sweet and efficient ladies in the kitchen served us delicious food for all our meals and made sure our needs were constantly taken care of, while often stopping for a friendly chat with us. 

The chapel and conference room upstairs effectively met our spiritual and practical needs as a group for a meaningful retreat experience. The spacious roof terrace and the pretty little garden at the front of the house provide lovely outdoor areas for when the weather permits. The rooms are simply furnished but extremely clean, with very comfortable beds and pillows, AC, free Wifi, towels, and toiletries, among other facilities.

We all had a memorable time, and Rivotorto truly felt like our home away from home—we will definitely be back!

An exceptional weekend retreat at the unique Rivotorto!

Staying here for 3 nights with a group of friends and this is my second visit here. A very warm and friendly greeting on arrival. Rooms are simply furnished but have everything that’s needed. It feels like a hidden sanctuary and I should keep it secret. But that wouldn’t be fair as it’s lovely.. I can highly recommend 

Peaceful and Very Pleasant

The Rivotorto is a great place to stay in Malta. I asked Dalia, the Manager, to arrange for pick-up at the airport and a taxi was waiting for me when I arrived. The guesthouse is clean and inviting.  The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Good Wifi and TV with several channels in English, German and Italian (other than Maltese).
The guesthouse is located just a 5 minute walk from bus stops, which will take you either to the bus terminal in Vallette or to other areas of the island, including the ferry terminal to Gozo. Across from the Franciscan Church is a little bar with an outside seating area which seems to be open all day long and is a nice place to sit and have a drink.  A beer is 1.5 Euro, a glass of wine 2 Euros. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Just a little further is a Pastizzeria with delicious traditional Maltese food. 
I stayed for 8 days at the Rivotorto and my thanks go to Dalia and Diane, who were most helpful and a pleasure to deal with.  Special thanks go to Dalia, who went out of her way to help me with my "Game of Thrones" tour booking and other trips.  
The Rivotorto is a place that makes people feel welcome and want to return.

Highly recommended

Far from the busy and noisy streets of Sliema, yet close to both Sliema and Valletta (very well connected by buses but avoid bus no. 101 if you are in a hurry - the trip is absolutely neverending). Very well connected to the northern part of the Island, too. So you easily reach Mdina, the sandy beach of Għadira Bay (Mellieħa), and Ċirkewwa to go to Gozo (30-40 min by bus to get to the port, and then 20 min to arrive in Gozo). 
This retreat house is the best solution for couples, families, students, who need a sound place where to sleep properly (beds are comfortable and the silence around the area is priceless). The Whole structure is absolutely clean and you can feel love is what guides the staff in welcoming all guests. 
Breakfast is good and varied. Guests can also use the common fridge provided in the breakfast room, if they need to store their own food or bottles of water. 
I spent some days in different occasions (for work, holidays on my own, and a romantic get-away with my husband). So, you can definitely trust my word ;)

Excellent solution

Clean+big room, mine had 3 single beds+air con+excellent wifi+very helpful staff. I especially want to thank Dalia, who was like a personal guide for me. She even loaned me a camera to use because mine died. 
The main draw back for an extended stay (4 nights for me) is that it is a 20 minute bus ride from Valletta. Not a central location. Sort of in the residential suburbs.

Comfortable, Friendly Place To Stay

Nice, clean and comfortable hotel, close to the airport. We used it as a one night stopover before heading to Gozo. 
The only thing to be aware of is that there seems to be an issue with shuttle services from the airport. Initially there was an unwillingness to drive us to Rivotorto and only after some discussions we found someone to get us there. Not sure why - the reason we were given was that the roads are too narrow. This isn't the case.
