We stayed at Kaani Grand for 3 nights and what stood out the most was the effort everyone put in, into making sure we had a great mini-vacation. I would like to highlight Afa, one of the receptionist, she adressed us by name throughout the vacation and made sure we had everything we needed. Also, the Reservations Manager, Mr. Wasantha, made himself available for all the queries we had, and always willing to find an alternative for  what we had in mind, it was a preasure meeting him. The room was clean and in excellent condition, had a beautiful view. The restaurant is welcoming and offers a wide range of fresh products. We loved it and recommend it to anyone interested in seeing the Maldives from a local, beyond-the-resort, perspective.

Wonderful location and amazing people

My fiance and I had an opportunity to spend honeymoon in Kaani Grand Sea View hotel. We were very satisfied with service, hospitality, cleanlines and willingness of Kaani's staff to assist whenever we needed any help. We were particularly impressed with our honeymoon room which was very big and had an astonishing ocean view. 

Moreover, Kaani together with Tra-vista Maafushi, has organized an amazing sandbank weeding for us, where they proved to care about every single detail. 

We were generally satisfied with breakfast, lunch and dinner, though we think that Kaani has a room for improvement in terms of desserts which were being served after lunch and dinner.

Nice honeymoon spent in Kaani Grand Sea View

We stayed 2 nights at Kaani Grand Seaview Hotel in Maafushi for my son's 2nd birthday. We got the ocean view room and indeed the balcony was overlooking the spectacular Indian ocean. Room was spacious enough for us 4 (2 adults and 2 toddlers) and most importantly, room was clean. The beach is just a step out from the hotel lobby and I have to say Kaani has got the nicest beach of all. We also have to thank Mr Suja for being accomodating to our request and upon knowing that we were celebrating our son's birthday, he even got the kitchen to prepare a small birthday cake for him. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture on his side. The staffs are friendly and approachable too. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we look forward to our next visit there. Thank you Kaani Grand.

Awesome Stay at Kaani Grand

My husband and I had chosen Kaani Grand Seaview after reading reviews, but unfortunately our experience was just ok and could have been better. We had arranged the trip through an agent which included hotel stay and pick and drop on a speed boat between hotel and the airport. I had arrived after a 27 hour travel from America at around 9:30 a.m. When we arrived the speed boat was already there. We waited a bit for other guests and left around half an hour later in the speed boat for Maafushi island where the hotel is located. There were members of the staff waiting to greet us. The staff was nice, polite and friendly. 

We arrived around 11:00 a.m, but the checkin time is 2 p.m. This meant we had to wait till the room got ready. In the lobby however there was no fan or air conditioner and the weather in February was hot and humid. It was very uncomfortable after a 27 hour travel.
We got a welcome drink which helped a bit but the overall checkin experience was not pleasant. 
In order to kill time till we could check in, we ate at the hotel's restaurant. The service was extremely slow and we waited a good one hour before getting our food. 
We were then checked in to a room on the 3rd floor. The view from the room was breathtaking. The room was clean  and the decor was very modern. Unfortunately there is construction going on and there were constant very loud sounds of drilling. We requested them to either change our room or refund us so that we could find another hotel. The staff was very helpful and they gave us a room on the 6th floor at one end of the hotel which again had great views and almost no sound at all. However the bathroom had a really strong and bad stench and it was hard to use it. We requested the hotel staff to do something about the smell, and they tried but the smell remained.
The air conditioner is also a bit noisy but i figured there is a 'quiet' setting on the air conditioner remote which helped reduce the sound.
Every morning we had our breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The food was good and they kept on changing the menu, so you get some variety. 
The location of the hotel is amazing probably the best on the entire island. Right in front is the Bikini Beach. You get one towel a day for free to use at the beach and have to pay $5 for the sun bed. 
Overall we enjoyed our week in Maafushi because it is a beautiful place :).

Could have been better

Best location and it’s really very very beautiful hotel. All double rooms are Seaview. All staffs are really very friendly and kind. Highly recommend this hotel on maafushi. They fo really best excursion too.
